DigiFT, a Singapore-based blockchain platform specializing in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, has been granted a custodial license by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). This approval allows the company to provide custody services for tokenized capital market products, further solidifying its position as a fully integrated platform for issuing, trading, and storing blockchain-based security tokens.
DigiFT Expands Its Regulatory Scope
Previously, DigiFT was authorized to operate a security token trading platform and offer financial services. With this new custodial license, the company can now handle the entire lifecycle of security tokens without relying on external custodians, enhancing both security and operational efficiency.
“Obtaining the custodial license under our CMS framework is a key step in DigiFT’s mission to build a robust and fully compliant digital asset ecosystem. By integrating custody services into our existing regulated framework, we are enhancing both security and efficiency for issuers and investors while paving the way for broader institutional adoption of tokenized assets,” said Henry Zhang, Founder & CEO at DigiFT.
DigiFT’s Role in RWA Tokenization
Founded in 2021, DigiFT operates a regulated digital asset exchange, allowing asset owners to issue blockchain-based security tokens while investors can trade them with continuous liquidity via an Automated Market Maker (AMM) mechanism.
The company specializes in tokenizing real-world financial assets, such as private credit funds and money market funds. In February 2025, DigiFT collaborated with Invesco to offer a tokenized version of a $6.3 billion private credit fund, aiming to provide accredited and institutional investors access to Invesco’s private credit strategies through its platform.
Additionally, in November 2024, DigiFT partnered with UBS Asset Management to launch ‘uMINT,’ UBS’s first tokenized money market fund, enabling investors to gain exposure to a tokenized version of UBS’s USD Money Market Investment Fund.
Impact on the Digital Asset Ecosystem
DigiFT’s newly obtained custodial license strengthens its position in Singapore’s evolving digital asset landscape. The integration of custody services within its existing regulatory framework enhances security and trust, paving the way for broader institutional adoption of tokenized assets. With increasing interest in RWA tokenization, DigiFT is well-positioned to capitalize on Singapore’s push toward commercializing digital securities in financial markets.
As Singapore continues to refine its regulatory frameworks to support digital asset innovation, DigiFT’s milestone marks another step in bridging traditional finance with blockchain technology.
