Tokyo-listed Quantum Solutions has officially become the largest Ethereum (ETH) treasury company outside of the United States, following an aggressive week-long buying spree that saw the firm acquire more than 2,300 ETH.
Quantum’s Rapid ETH Accumulation
In an announcement posted on X (formerly Twitter) on October 23, Quantum Solutions founder Francis Zhou revealed that the company accumulated 2,365 ETH in just seven days, securing its position as the top Ethereum treasury in Asia.
“I’m proud to announce that we have accumulated 2,365 ETH in just 7 days, officially making Quantum Solutions the largest ETH DAT outside the US,” Zhou wrote, adding that the company plans to continue growing its holdings in the coming months.
According to the firm’s press release, Quantum purchased over 2,000 ETH via its Hong Kong subsidiary on October 21, worth approximately $7.85 million at the time. This pushed its total Ethereum holdings to 3,865.84 ETH, currently valued at around $14.8 million.
Data from CoinGecko ranks Quantum Solutions as the 11th largest ETH Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) in the world and number one in Japan.
Backed by ARK Invest and Institutional Heavyweights
Quantum’s Ethereum accumulation was made possible through a major $180 million (26 billion yen) funding round in September. The round was led by ARK Invest, Susquehanna International Group (via CVI Investments), and Hong Kong’s Integrated Asset Management.
This marked ARK Invest’s first direct investment in Asia’s public markets, signaling growing institutional confidence in the region’s blockchain ecosystem.
“Three months into the DAT revolution, we’re happy to support Japan’s first institutional-grade ETH DAT,” said Cathie Wood, founder and CEO of ARK Invest.
Quantum Solutions has also been expanding its Bitcoin treasury strategy, first announced in July. The company aims to accumulate 3,000 BTC over the next year. Currently, its Bitcoin treasury stands at 1.6 BTC, valued at roughly $1.3 million.
Market Response: Quantum’s Shares Slide Despite Milestone
Despite its high-profile Ethereum purchases, Quantum’s stock price has continued to decline. Shares closed at 565 yen on October 23, down nearly 2% for the day and more than 28% over the past five trading sessions, according to Google Finance.
Analysts say the selloff reflects broader investor caution across crypto-related equities, as enthusiasm for Digital Asset Treasury (DAT) companies has cooled amid short-term market volatility.
Still, some market watchers believe interest in Ethereum-linked investments remains strong, especially as institutional involvement deepens through initiatives like Quantum’s.
“This pullback looks more like profit-taking than panic,” one Tokyo-based analyst told crypto.news. “The fact that firms like ARK and Susquehanna are backing Ethereum treasuries in Japan shows that long-term confidence is still high.”
The Bigger Picture
Quantum Solutions’ rapid accumulation of Ethereum marks a turning point for Asia’s role in crypto treasury holdings. With strong institutional support and growing interest in blockchain-based asset management, Japan could soon emerge as a key player in the global digital asset treasury race.
Whether Quantum’s bold strategy can reverse its recent stock slump remains to be seen but its ambitions clearly extend far beyond short-term price movements.
