Solana has entered a clear bearish phase after losing roughly half of its value from the August peak, with both technical indicators and on-chain data pointing to mounting downside risk.
As broader crypto markets remain under pressure, weakening activity across the Solana network is adding to concerns about near-term price stability.
Solana Slips Into Bear Market Territory
SOL is currently trading near $124.50, down sharply from its August high of $252.55. The decline places Solana firmly in bear market territory, reflecting persistent selling pressure and fading investor confidence.
Despite the drop, Solana remains one of the most actively used blockchains in the industry, processing more transactions than the next five chains combined. Still, recent data suggests that activity is slowing.
Network Activity Shows Broad Weakness
Data from Nansen shows that Solana’s transaction count declined by about 10% over the past 30 days, falling to roughly 1.79 billion transactions. While this figure remains high in absolute terms, the downward trend signals cooling usage.
The number of active addresses on the network has also slipped, dropping 5.7% to around 60.1 million. More concerning, network fees fell by 21% to approximately $14 million, highlighting reduced economic activity across the ecosystem.
TVL and Stablecoin Metrics Send Mixed Signals
Additional metrics point to further softness. Solana’s total value locked has declined to about $18.57 billion, down significantly from a year-to-date high near $30 billion. On a relative basis, however, TVL has continued to rise when measured in SOL terms, offering a partial offset.
Stablecoin supply on Solana increased by roughly 15% over the past 30 days, but other indicators tell a less encouraging story. Adjusted transaction volume fell 30% to $238 billion, while the number of holders declined by 9% to around 3.4 million.
These trends align with a broader pullback across the crypto market, where capital has steadily rotated out of risk assets.
Market-Wide Pressure Weighs on Activity
The slowdown comes amid a wider crypto market downturn. Nansen data shows that stablecoin outflows from exchanges have decreased from $94 billion in November to about $85 billion, signaling reduced trading activity and lower risk appetite among investors.
As liquidity thins, high-beta assets like Solana have struggled to attract sustained demand.
Bearish Technical Pattern Signals More Downside
From a technical standpoint, Solana’s daily chart remains firmly bearish. SOL continues to trade below all major moving averages, reinforcing the prevailing downtrend.
More importantly, the token has formed a bearish flag pattern, a classic continuation setup that often precedes another leg lower. Price has already broken below the lower boundary of the flag, confirming the bearish breakout.
If selling pressure persists, traders are eyeing the psychological $100 level as the next major downside target, representing roughly 20% further downside from current prices.
Solana is facing a challenging environment as declining network activity and bearish technical patterns converge. While the blockchain remains highly active compared to peers, falling transactions, fees, and user metrics suggest momentum is fading. With SOL breaking down from a bearish flag, downside risks remain elevated unless broader market conditions improve.
