American Bitcoin Corp. is closing in on a major milestone, with its Bitcoin treasury now totaling 3,865 BTC after a disciplined period of accumulation and mining. The company’s combined efforts in acquisition and self-mining have strengthened its position as one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin in the United States.
Strategic Accumulation Pushes Treasury to New High
According to an October 27 press release, American Bitcoin acquired 1,414 BTC, significantly boosting its balance sheet and bringing its total holdings to 3,865 BTC as of October 24. The move puts the Nasdaq-listed miner within reach of the 4,000 BTC treasury mark, underscoring its long-term conviction in Bitcoin as a core strategic asset.
The company’s management described the buildup as part of a deliberate shift toward a “mine and hold” model, focusing on retaining mined Bitcoin rather than liquidating for operational expenses. Some of these holdings are pledged under existing miner purchase agreements, reflecting a more capital-efficient growth strategy.
“By producing Bitcoin directly, we can reduce our average cost per Bitcoin to drive a cost advantage over vehicles that buy exclusively on the open market,”
said Asher Genoot, Executive Chairman of American Bitcoin.
“That structural advantage allows us to compound Bitcoin value per share more efficiently for our investors.”
Introducing the “Satoshis Per Share” Metric
In a move to enhance transparency, American Bitcoin introduced a new performance metric called Satoshis Per Share (SPS) a measure of how much Bitcoin backs each share of the company’s stock.
As of October 24, the firm reported an SPS of 418, marking a 52% increase since early September. Management says the metric gives shareholders a more direct view of Bitcoin accumulation progress, moving away from speculative projections about hashrate or future revenues.
Accumulating Through Market Volatility
The timing of this accumulation is notable. American Bitcoin expanded its holdings even as the broader market navigated volatility. Between October 16 and 20, Bitcoin traded below $110,000 for four consecutive sessions before rebounding above $115,000.
The company’s continued purchases during this period signal confidence in Bitcoin’s long-term trajectory a stance increasingly mirrored by other major corporate holders.
Institutional Accumulation Trend Strengthens
American Bitcoin’s accumulation coincides with similar moves by other institutional players. On the same day, Strategy, the world’s largest corporate Bitcoin holder, announced the purchase of an additional 168 BTC, raising its total holdings to a staggering 640,418 BTC.
Interestingly, Strategy financed its latest acquisition through preferred stock sales, marking the third straight week it avoided common equity issuance a signal of disciplined treasury management.
Building a Bitcoin-Centric Corporate Model
American Bitcoin’s long-term vision centers on building intrinsic shareholder value through Bitcoin accumulation rather than relying solely on traditional operational metrics.
By focusing on cost-efficient mining and treasury growth, the company aims to establish itself as a Bitcoin-native corporation one that reflects the digital asset’s scarcity and long-term appreciation in its balance sheet.
With just a few hundred Bitcoin left to reach the 4,000 BTC milestone, American Bitcoin’s disciplined accumulation strategy highlights a growing corporate trend: treating Bitcoin not as a trade, but as core treasury capital.
