Solana Mobile has confirmed a major token distribution event, announcing that more than 1.8 billion SKR tokens will be airdropped to Seeker phone users and app developers following the conclusion of Season 1 of the SKR airdrop.
The distribution is scheduled for Jan. 21, marking one of the largest mobile-focused airdrops in the Solana ecosystem to date.
Who is eligible for the SKR airdrop?
According to a post shared by Solana Mobile on X, more than 100,000 users and 188 developers will collectively receive 1,819,755,000 SKR and 141,030,000 SKR, respectively. An allocation tracker is already live, allowing participants to check their rewards directly through their Seed Vault wallets.
Airdrop rewards are tied to engagement and follow a five-tier system, with allocations determined by user activity across the Seeker device, the Solana dApp Store, and on-chain interactions during Season 1.
The five tiers are:
- Scout
- Prospector
- Vanguard
- Luminary
- Sovereign
Users in the Sovereign tier are eligible to receive up to 750,000 SKR, while the Scout tier starts at 5,000 SKR.
What is SKR and how will it be used?
SKR is the native token of the Solana Mobile ecosystem and is closely linked to the second-generation Seeker smartphone. It is designed to function as both a utility and governance token, giving holders influence over platform rules, app curation, and ecosystem policies.
Token holders will also be able to delegate SKR to Guardians, entities responsible for device verification, app moderation, and enforcement of community standards. In return, users gain access to exclusive in-app features and staking rewards.
SKR tokenomics overview
Earlier this month, Solana Mobile revealed that SKR has a total supply of 10 billion tokens, with 30% reserved for community airdrops. Of the initial airdrop allocation, roughly two-thirds has been designated specifically for Seeker users and developers.
An additional 2.7 billion SKR tokens will be unlocked at the token generation event and allocated toward the community treasury, liquidity provisioning, and ecosystem growth and partnership initiatives.
Staking goes live on Jan. 21
Starting on Jan. 21, SKR will be stakeable at launch, allowing Seeker users to earn rewards directly through Guardians using the Seed Vault Wallet. Solana Mobile also confirmed that users will be able to stake via a dedicated SKR staking web interface, expanding access beyond the mobile app.
Seeker adoption gains momentum
Seeker is the second-generation device in Solana Mobile’s crypto-integrated smartphone lineup. Unlike its predecessor, Saga, which struggled to gain adoption, Seeker has seen stronger traction thanks to improved hardware specifications and a more accessible $500 price point.
The device began shipping to more than 50 countries in August, and Solana Mobile reportedly secured over 150,000 pre-orders, signaling growing interest in blockchain-native mobile devices.

The scale of the SKR airdrop underscores Solana Mobile’s strategy of using token incentives to deepen user engagement and developer participation. With staking, governance, and mobile-first utilities going live, the Seeker ecosystem is positioning itself as a cornerstone of Solana’s broader consumer adoption push.
