Strategy has announced an impressive $21 billion raised so far in 2025, marking one of its strongest funding years to date. The company revealed a major shift in how it is raising capital, leaning more heavily on preferred equity while continuing to pursue its long-term plan of expanding corporate Bitcoin holdings.
According to the newly released statement, the company has raised funds through a combination of common equity, preferred equity, and convertible debt, maintaining a record pace that aligns with its ongoing Bitcoin accumulation strategy.
A Significant Shift in Funding Structure
In 2024, Strategy raised a total of $22.6 billion, primarily through $16.3 billion in common equity and $6.2 billion in convertible debt. But 2025 has introduced a notably different approach.
So far this year, the company has secured $20.8 billion, broken down into:
- $11.9B in common equity
- $6.9B in preferred equity
- $2.0B in convertible debt
This marks the first time Strategy has leaned heavily on preferred equity, signaling a strategic shift designed to attract more institutional participants and diversify capital channels.
Breakdown of Structured Offerings
The 2025 total includes a mix of structured securities, such as:
- $1.18B in STRF
- $2.68B in STRC
- $0.71B in STRE
- $1.25B in STRK
- $1.07B in STRD
These instruments have reportedly drawn strong interest from institutions seeking exposure to Strategy’s long-term Bitcoin-backed business model.
Reinforcing Its Role as a Major Bitcoin Accumulator
Strategy continues to position itself as one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin in the world. Chairman Michael Saylor has repeatedly emphasized Bitcoin as the company’s core treasury reserve asset—a philosophy that continues to drive its capital-raising efforts.
The current fundraising pace suggests Strategy could surpass its 2024 total before the end of the year, highlighting consistent institutional confidence in its Bitcoin-focused strategy.
