StableX Technologies has announced the acquisition of Chainlink (LINK) tokens, marking its second major crypto investment under a $100 million strategy focused on assets powering the stablecoin ecosystem.
The move underscores the Nasdaq-listed firm’s growing commitment to building exposure to the blockchain infrastructure supporting stablecoins one of the fastest-growing segments in global finance.
Summary
- StableX Technologies has acquired Chainlink (LINK) tokens, citing their vital role in the stablecoin ecosystem.
- The purchase follows StableX’s earlier investment in FLUID tokens.
- The firm’s $100 million investment plan targets crypto assets that directly power stablecoin operations and infrastructure.
Chainlink: A Core Part of StableX’s Strategy
In an announcement on Oct. 16, StableX confirmed that Chainlink plays a critical role in its long-term vision to become a pure-play investor in stablecoin infrastructure.
“Our investment in Chainlink (LINK) represents a cornerstone of StableX’s strategy and the future of the stablecoin ecosystem,” said James Altucher, Digital Treasury Asset Manager at StableX.
He added that Chainlink’s decentralized oracle network is uniquely positioned to support the next phase of growth for the stablecoin industry providing essential services such as real-time price feeds and proof-of-reserve verification for issuers like USDT and USDC.
Why Chainlink Is Key to Stablecoins
According to StableX, Chainlink’s infrastructure is fundamental to ensuring stablecoin transparency and reliability across decentralized finance (DeFi).
Chainlink’s data oracles allow stablecoins to maintain their peg to fiat currencies by continuously delivering real-time pricing data to DeFi protocols. Moreover, its proof-of-reserve capabilities help verify that stablecoin issuers hold sufficient collateral to back their tokens.
Beyond DeFi, Chainlink’s partnerships extend deep into traditional finance including collaborations with Swift, UBS, S&P Global, and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
“With partnerships spanning traditional and decentralized institutions, Chainlink is rapidly becoming the data backbone of global finance,” Altucher said. “Holding a dominant 68% share of the decentralized oracle market, LINK was a must-own asset as we build the only pure-play portfolio dedicated to stablecoins.”
Expanding the Stablecoin-Focused Portfolio
This marks the second key purchase in StableX’s ongoing crypto treasury expansion, following its earlier investment in FLUID, another protocol closely tied to stablecoin liquidity and settlement.
While the company did not disclose the exact number of LINK tokens acquired, the move signals continued momentum in its broader goal to own infrastructure tokens critical to the stability, verification, and scalability of stablecoins.
StableX’s strategic positioning comes as global demand for stablecoins grows rapidly driven by institutional adoption, cross-border payment use cases, and integration with traditional banking systems.
