The Blockchain Group, Europe’s first publicly listed Bitcoin treasury company, has fortified its digital asset reserves with the purchase of an additional 60 BTC, acquired for approximately €5.5 million. The transaction boosts the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 1,788 BTC, now valued at around €161.3 million.
Capital Raise Fuels BTC Acquisition
The acquisition was enabled through a series of strategic capital operations. These included the conversion of over 1.1 million warrants (BSA 2025-01), bringing in €0.6 million, as well as a separate €4.1 million equity raise under the firm’s “ATM-type” program with long-term partner TOBAM.
Notably, Blockstream CEO Adam Back subscribed to 2.1 million shares at €0.544 per share, injecting approximately €1.16 million into the company. Asset manager TOBAM also participated in the capital operation, subscribing to 262,605 shares for €0.14 million as part of legal adjustments for convertible note holders.
The latest financing round comes on the heels of a decisive shareholder vote that increased The Blockchain Group’s fundraising cap to €500 million in nominal value. With over 95% of votes cast in favor, investor confidence in the company’s Bitcoin-centric strategy appears to be at an all-time high.
1,270% BTC Yield Year-to-Date
The Blockchain Group has delivered an extraordinary 1,270.7% yield on its BTC portfolio so far in 2025. This translates to a net gain of more than 500 BTC valued at approximately €46.7 million since the beginning of the year. The company’s average acquisition price currently stands at €90,213 per BTC.
The performance far surpasses the company’s previous record of 709% return on Bitcoin investments in 2024, underlining its rapid momentum since beginning Bitcoin accumulation in November of last year.
Ambitious 2032 Target: 170,000 BTC
The Blockchain Group has outlined a bold strategic roadmap to accumulate 170,000 BTC equivalent to 1% of Bitcoin’s total capped supply by the year 2032. A key part of the plan includes gradually increasing the amount of BTC held per fully diluted share, thereby aligning long-term shareholder value with the growing value of its Bitcoin treasury.
