Ethereum is proving to be a magnet for institutional capital, taking center stage in the latest wave of digital asset investments. According to CoinShares’ latest Monday report, the crypto market just witnessed its largest weekly inflows ever totaling $4.39 billion with Ethereum leading the charge.
This massive influx has pushed total assets under management (AUM) for crypto investment products to a record-breaking $220 billion. It also marks the 14th consecutive week of net inflows, bringing the year-to-date total to $27 billion.
Ethereum Steals the Spotlight
Ethereum (ETH) had an especially impressive week, bringing in $2.12 billion nearly doubling its previous record of $1.2 billion. To put that in perspective, it even outpaced Bitcoin, which saw $2.2 billion in inflows. For 2025, ETH has already attracted $6.2 billion in inflows, surpassing all of 2024’s total.
As of today, Ethereum briefly tapped $3,800 before settling around $3,777, marking a 54% gain over the past month and 23% in just the past week.
ETH now represents 23% of total crypto fund AUM, signaling its growing dominance in institutional portfolios a clear sign that big money is increasingly betting on Ethereum’s long-term potential.
Bitcoin, Solana, and Other Altcoins Also Ride the Wave
While Ethereum grabbed the spotlight, Bitcoin still maintained a strong presence with $2.2 billion in inflows though this was slightly down from last week’s $2.7 billion. Meanwhile, altcoins also drew attention:
- Solana (SOL) brought in $39 million
- XRP attracted $36 million
- Sui (SUI) posted $9.3 million in new investments
These figures highlight continued diversification among crypto investors beyond just the two giants.
ETFs Play a Big Role
Exchange-traded products also played a key part in the surge. Issuers like BlackRock and Grayscale led the way with robust inflows, while Ark Invest, Fidelity, and ProShares saw some modest outflows.
U.S. Leads the Pack, but Global Interest Grows
Not surprisingly, the United States accounted for the overwhelming majority of inflows, bringing in $4.36 billion last week alone. Other regions showed growing interest as well:
- Switzerland: $47.3 million
- Australia: $17.3 million
- Hong Kong: $14.1 million
Meanwhile, Brazil and Germany posted minor outflows of $28.1 million and $15.5 million, respectively.
Bottom Line
Ethereum’s breakout moment in institutional finance is here. With billions pouring into ETH-focused funds and ETFs, and its price climbing sharply, Ethereum is clearly leading the current charge in crypto investment. Combined with sustained interest in Bitcoin and growing traction among altcoins, the market’s momentum seems far from over and 2025 could be shaping up to be a defining year for digital assets.
