Pump.fun’s PUMP token has climbed sharply over the past 24 hours, gaining roughly 14% and moving close to the important $0.006 resistance level.
The latest rally has been supported by stronger technical momentum, rising trading activity and continued token buybacks from the Pump.fun platform. With PUMP now trading near $0.0058, traders are watching to see whether the token can turn $0.006 into support and continue higher.
CoinGecko data shows PUMP trading around $0.0058, with a 24-hour range between approximately $0.0050 and $0.0060.
The token has also gained more than 32% over the past seven days. Its market capitalization is currently close to $2.7 billion, while daily trading volume has risen above $500 million.
Can Pump.fun price break above $0.006?
PUMP briefly touched the $0.006 level during its latest rally before pulling back toward $0.0058.
That makes $0.006 the nearest major resistance level on the chart.
The token has moved considerably higher from the $0.004 region seen during the final week of September, showing that buyers have regained control over short-term price action.
Technical indicators are also pointing to strong momentum.
The 14-day Relative Strength Index, or RSI, stands near 67.65, while its moving average is around 58.10.
An RSI reading close to 70 suggests buying momentum remains strong, although the market is approaching levels that traders often describe as overbought.
Reaching overbought territory does not automatically mean the price will fall, but it can indicate that the rally has become stretched in the short term.
MACD supports the bullish momentum
The MACD indicator is also showing positive momentum.
The MACD line is currently near 0.000380, above the signal line of approximately 0.000206.
Meanwhile, the histogram remains positive at around 0.000174.
Together, these readings suggest that bullish momentum strengthened following PUMP’s pullback in mid-September.
A sustained move above $0.006 could open the door to further upside if trading volume remains strong.
However, if buyers fail to hold the rally, the $0.005 area may become the next important support level.
Below that, the previous consolidation zone between approximately $0.0040 and $0.0043 could become a stronger technical support area.
Pump.fun continues aggressive PUMP buybacks
Pump.fun’s token buyback and burn program remains another major factor influencing market sentiment.
The platform reported spending approximately $1.02 million on Sept. 29 to purchase and permanently burn 187.1 million PUMP tokens.
The tokens were purchased at an average price of roughly $0.005446.
Pump.fun used around 8,500 SOL for the transaction, representing approximately 49.77% of its reported daily revenue.
The platform has also carried out several large buybacks in recent days.
On Sept. 28, Pump.fun spent around $1.21 million to burn approximately 228.3 million PUMP tokens.
Another $1.14 million was used for token purchases on Sept. 27, while $1.46 million was deployed on Sept. 26.
The consistent buying activity has helped keep the token burn program in focus during PUMP’s latest rally.
More than 168 billion PUMP tokens have been burned
Pump.fun says cumulative token purchases have now reached approximately $468.44 million.
According to the platform’s dashboard, around 168.89 billion PUMP tokens have been permanently removed from circulation.
That represents approximately 16.889% of the token’s original one trillion supply.
Reducing the circulating token supply can theoretically support scarcity if demand remains stable or increases.
However, token burns alone do not guarantee price appreciation, as broader market conditions and investor demand remain important factors.
Pump.fun currently aims to allocate roughly 50% of platform revenue toward its buyback program.
Its dashboard estimates annualized revenue of approximately $525.49 million based on its 90-day average.
The platform has warned, however, that its current fee dashboard does not fully account for revenue and buybacks generated through custom trading pairs.
Pump.fun has also made clear that previous discretionary purchases should not be interpreted as a guarantee that future buybacks will continue at the same pace.
PUMP faces an important test after the fast rally
PUMP’s recent gains have pushed the token well above the levels seen during its September decline.
The token has climbed more than 30% over the past week, with the latest 24-hour rally briefly carrying it to $0.006.
That rapid rise means technical conditions are becoming increasingly stretched.
With RSI approaching 70, traders may closely watch whether buyers can maintain momentum without triggering a deeper short-term correction.
If PUMP breaks and holds above $0.006, traders could view that move as confirmation of stronger bullish momentum.
On the other hand, repeated rejection from the level could increase the possibility of a pullback toward $0.005.
Pump.fun treasury activity also remains in focus
Pump.fun’s treasury movements have attracted attention alongside the token buybacks.
A platform-linked wallet transferred 47,994 SOL, worth approximately $5.83 million, to Kraken on Sept. 27.
Blockchain analytics platform Lookonchain estimated that cumulative SOL movements classified as sales had reached around 5.236 million SOL, valued at roughly $848 million.
However, transferring assets to an exchange does not necessarily confirm that the full amount was sold.
There is also no verified evidence showing that the Sept. 27 transfer directly caused PUMP’s subsequent price movement.
Pump.fun’s SOL treasury transfers and its PUMP buyback program should therefore be viewed as separate activities unless confirmed otherwise.
Pump.fun promotes cheaper trading through its app
Pump.fun is also attempting to grow activity beyond its token launchpad.
Co-founder Alon Cohen recently highlighted the platform’s focus on low-cost trading through the Pump.fun social trading app.
According to Cohen, Solana-based trading inside the app currently carries roughly 0% platform fees, while crosschain trades cost approximately 0.1%.
The company wants users to trade tokens launched through Pump.fun while also providing access to assets from other networks and launchpads.
This strategy allows Pump.fun to keep its token-launching ecosystem at the center of the platform while expanding into a broader trading experience.
Pump.fun expands rewards and crosschain trading
Pump.fun has continued introducing new incentives for users and creators.
Cohen recently said that the platform distributed approximately $11 million in callout rewards in less than six weeks.
Holder rewards accounted for another $8.5 million in under two weeks.
The platform has also introduced a referral program as part of its effort to increase engagement.
Pump.fun has expanded beyond Solana as well.
In August, the platform added support for HyperEVM token trading using USDC inside the Pump.fun app.
The expansion gave users access to additional assets while maintaining the low-fee crosschain approach promoted by the company.
What comes next for PUMP?
The $0.006 level remains the key short-term area for PUMP.
Strong momentum, continued token burns and rising trading activity are supporting the latest rally, but the token is also approaching technically stretched conditions.
A convincing move above $0.006 accompanied by strong volume could strengthen the bullish setup.
Failure to break through that level may result in consolidation or a pullback toward the $0.005 region.
As always, token buybacks and technical indicators can influence market sentiment, but neither guarantees future price performance.
Investors should also consider broader crypto market conditions, liquidity and volatility when evaluating PUMP’s next move.
