Onchain derivatives protocol MYX has successfully closed a strategic funding round led by Consensys, marking a significant milestone ahead of its upcoming MYX V2 launch.
The round also included participation from Consensys Mesh and Systemic Ventures. With this investment finalized, Consensys has become MYX’s largest investor signaling strong institutional confidence in the protocol’s long-term infrastructure vision.
From dApp to Core Infrastructure
The funding supports the rollout of MYX’s Modular Derivative Settlement Engine, a key component of its V2 upgrade. Rather than operating as a traditional vertically integrated decentralized application, MYX is transitioning into a modular settlement layer.
In simple terms, instead of being just another trading platform, MYX V2 is positioning itself as backend infrastructure that other products and platforms can build on. This structural shift aims to expand its role within the broader omnichain derivatives ecosystem.
What MYX V2 Brings to the Table
MYX V2 introduces several technical upgrades designed to improve efficiency and accessibility in onchain derivatives trading.
At the protocol level, the system integrates account abstraction standards such as EIP-4337 and EIP-7702, alongside Chainlink’s latest permissionless oracle infrastructure. These integrations aim to address long-standing challenges in decentralized trading, including:
- Slow listing of long-tail assets
- Capital inefficiency
- Complex multi-step transaction processes
The platform also enables gasless, one-click trading while maintaining non-custodial control. This means users can execute trades more seamlessly without giving up custody of their assets.
Dynamic Margin and Slippage-Free Execution
One of the more notable features in MYX V2 is its Dynamic Margin system, which supports leverage of up to 50x without depending on traditional order book depth.
Instead of relying on available liquidity in an order book, pricing is anchored directly to oracle data. According to the team, this structure removes slippage for large orders and reduces execution risk — particularly in volatile or newly launched markets.
By decoupling liquidity depth from execution quality, MYX aims to eliminate a common trade-off faced by onchain perpetual traders: the need to wait for deep liquidity or accept unfavorable pricing when trading size.
With oracle-anchored pricing, traders can open and close positions at predictable prices regardless of temporary liquidity constraints.
Designed for Real Trading Conditions
The MYX team emphasizes that its execution model is not dependent on discretionary market makers. Instead, it operates through deterministic economic models, structured margin systems, and conservative security assumptions.
The intended outcome is:
- Lower effective trading costs
- Faster access to emerging assets
- More consistent execution during market stress
As decentralized finance continues to mature, infrastructure-focused upgrades like MYX V2 highlight a broader industry trend moving from experimental platforms toward scalable, institutional-grade systems.
With Consensys now its largest backer, MYX appears to be positioning itself as foundational infrastructure for the next phase of omnichain derivatives trading.
