The price of Chainlink continued its downward slide on Tuesday, even after landing a major institutional milestone.
LINK was trading near $8.60, down roughly 70% from its 2025 high, and hovering close to its lowest level since August 2024. The token has now declined for four consecutive weeks, extending a downtrend that began when it peaked near $27.8 in August.
What makes the drop notable is that it comes despite a high-profile endorsement from the Bank of England.
Bank of England Selects Chainlink for Synchronization Lab
Chainlink was chosen to participate in the Bank of England’s new Synchronization Lab, where it will contribute decentralization and oracle solutions.
The initiative is designed to demonstrate how synchronization operators will interact with the upcoming RT2 synchronization capability. It builds on the Bank’s earlier Project Meridian, which showed that the synchronization operator model is technically feasible.
Chainlink joins an impressive lineup of participants, including:

The program aims to demonstrate both technical flexibility and ecosystem readiness, positioning Chainlink alongside major financial infrastructure players.
Institutional Momentum vs. Market Reality
The Bank of England becomes the latest major institution to engage with Chainlink’s oracle infrastructure.

These collaborations have supported steady growth in Chainlink’s ecosystem revenue and helped expand its Strategic LINK Reserves, which now hold around 1.9 million LINK tokens valued at more than $16.2 million.
Interestingly, spot LINK exchange-traded products have reportedly outperformed flows into other crypto assets this month. While Bitcoin and Ethereum funds have seen net outflows, LINK-linked products have attracted fresh interest.
Yet despite these positives, the token’s price continues to struggle underscoring how macro crypto sentiment can outweigh fundamentals in the short term.
