Solana Mobile has officially rolled out the SKR airdrop for users of its Seeker smartphone, marking a major step in the company’s effort to build a community-owned mobile ecosystem.
Announced on Jan. 21, the launch allows eligible Seeker users and early developers to claim and stake SKR, the native token designed to power governance, rewards, and participation across the Solana Mobile platform.
How the SKR airdrop works
Seeker phone holders can claim their SKR tokens directly through the Seed Vault Wallet on their device. By navigating to the Activity Tracking tab, users can complete the claim process in just a few steps. A small balance of Solana is required to cover network fees.
Users have a 90-day window to claim their allocation. Any unclaimed tokens after that period will be returned to the airdrop pool.
Developers are also part of the distribution. Teams that shipped approved applications to the Solana Mobile dApp Store during Season 1 can claim SKR through the Publishing Portal. Solana Mobile said the allocation is intended to reward early builders who helped bootstrap the Seeker ecosystem.
In total, around 2 billion SKR roughly 20% of the fixed 10 billion token supply has been allocated to users and developers.
SKR’s role in the Solana Mobile ecosystem
SKR serves as both a utility and governance token within the Solana Mobile ecosystem. It enables staking, community governance, decentralized app discovery and curation, and device-level security through a system known as Guardians.
Staking is already live, allowing holders to delegate their tokens and earn rewards, with inflation events occurring every 48 hours.
At press time, SKR was trading near $0.0101, giving it an estimated market capitalization of $56.6 million. Approximately 5.7 billion tokens are currently in circulation, while the fully diluted valuation stands near $99.3 million.
Trading activity and early market response
SKR is now tradable across major Solana-based decentralized exchanges, including Raydium, Jupiter, Orca, and Meteora. The token has also secured listings on several centralized exchanges such as Crypto.com, Bybit, KuCoin, Gate.io, and Bitget.
As expected with a newly launched token, early price action has been volatile. Solana Mobile has emphasized that SKR is designed for long-term ecosystem participation rather than short-term speculation.
With the airdrop now live, Solana Mobile confirmed that Seeker Season 2 is already underway, bringing new apps, rewards, and activity-based incentives as the company continues its push toward an open, community-driven mobile platform.
