Chainlink price is entering a potentially important phase as volatility continues to shrink and LINK trades inside an increasingly narrow range.
At the time of analysis, LINK was trading near $11.41, struggling to extend its latest recovery after retreating from September highs near $13.60. Technical indicators continue to show weak momentum, while liquidity sitting just below the current price could increase the risk of another move toward the $11 level.
At the same time, tightening Bollinger Bands suggest that a larger Chainlink price breakout could be approaching.
Chainlink price struggles below key resistance
Chainlink was trading around $11.41, down roughly 0.91% on the day after moving between approximately $11.30 and $11.63.
The token has given back a significant portion of the gains recorded during its August and early September rally. LINK climbed from around $8.20 in early August and eventually reached a September high near $13.60.
Momentum strengthened after Chainlink moved above $9.40 and later broke through $11.00. However, selling pressure increased once LINK pushed beyond the $13 level.
Since reaching its September peak, the market structure has weakened, with LINK producing lower highs and lower lows.
Its latest recovery attempt stalled below $11.70, keeping the price under the important $11.72 resistance level.
Broader crypto market weakness has also affected sentiment. Traders continue to assess inflation, energy prices, interest-rate expectations and the possibility that the Federal Reserve could keep monetary conditions restrictive for longer.
Higher borrowing costs typically reduce investors’ appetite for higher-risk assets, including cryptocurrencies.
Regulatory uncertainty in the United States is another factor traders are watching, although Chainlink’s near-term direction is likely to depend more heavily on technical levels and overall crypto market momentum.
Daily indicators show weakening momentum
Chainlink remains above an important daily support area near $10.94.
This level previously played an important role around LINK’s August breakout and could once again determine whether buyers are able to stabilize the market.
However, the Aroon indicator suggests bullish momentum has weakened considerably.
Aroon Up was around 7.14%, compared with an Aroon Down reading of approximately 42.86%.
The difference indicates that LINK has not created a meaningful new high recently, while downside pressure remains more active.
Although the readings do not confirm another major decline by themselves, they support the weakening price structure that has developed since the September peak.
For bullish momentum to improve, buyers would first need to push LINK above $11.72.
A stronger breakout could then open the door toward $12.50.
If LINK successfully clears $12.50 with stronger trading volume, the next potential resistance targets would sit near $13.28 and $14.06.
However, reaching those levels would likely require improved crypto market sentiment and stronger buying pressure, especially after LINK was previously rejected from the $13.00 to $13.60 region.
On the downside, losing $10.94 could expose Chainlink to another decline toward approximately $10.16.
If selling pressure continues beyond that point, the next major technical level would be near $9.38.
Bollinger Bands point to an approaching Chainlink price breakout
The 4-hour chart is becoming particularly important for traders watching for the next Chainlink price breakout.
LINK was trading slightly below the Bollinger Band midpoint near $11.44.
The upper Bollinger Band was positioned around $11.68, while the lower band stood near $11.20.
The increasingly narrow gap between the upper and lower bands shows that market volatility has declined substantially.
Following the sharp correction from September’s peak, Chainlink has largely moved sideways between approximately $11.20 and $11.70.
Periods of Bollinger Band compression are often followed by stronger price movements as volatility returns, although the indicator does not predict the direction of the breakout.
For LINK, a move back above the Bollinger midpoint would provide an early sign that buyers are regaining control.
The more important bullish confirmation would come from a breakout above the $11.68 to $11.72 resistance zone.
If buyers successfully clear this area, Chainlink could move toward the psychological $12.00 level, followed by $12.50.
Awesome Oscillator shows bearish momentum easing
The Awesome Oscillator remained slightly negative at approximately -0.025.
While this still points to bearish momentum, the negative histogram bars have become smaller.
That suggests selling momentum may be weakening.
However, the oscillator would need to move convincingly above zero before providing stronger confirmation of a bullish momentum shift.
Until then, Chainlink remains caught between nearby support and resistance.
A breakdown below the lower Bollinger Band around $11.20 could push LINK back toward $10.94.
In contrast, a breakout above the upper band would weaken the current bearish structure and improve the possibility of a recovery toward $12.00 and eventually $12.50.
LINK liquidation clusters build around $11
Liquidation data adds another important factor to Chainlink’s short-term outlook.
According to the one-week liquidation heatmap, a notable concentration of leveraged positions sits below the current market price, particularly between $11.00 and $11.15.
One of the strongest liquidity clusters appears close to $11.05, with additional liquidity extending toward approximately $10.90.
Large concentrations of leveraged positions can sometimes attract price because a move into these areas may trigger forced liquidations.
If LINK falls below $11.20, long liquidations could therefore increase selling pressure and accelerate a move toward $11.00.
There are also significant liquidity zones above the current price.
The closest upside liquidity appears around $11.70 to $12.00, followed by larger concentrations close to $12.20 and $12.50.
Another major liquidity area is visible near $13.00.
However, LINK would first need to break its recent pattern of lower highs before reaching those levels.
What comes next for Chainlink price?
Chainlink is currently trading inside a relatively tight range, making the next confirmed breakout particularly important.
The main support zone sits between $10.94 and $11.20, while the nearest resistance area remains between $11.68 and $11.72.
A decisive move outside this range could provide traders with a clearer indication of LINK’s next major direction.
If buyers push LINK above $11.72, the probability of a recovery toward $12.00 and $12.50 would increase.
Breaking $12.50 could potentially bring $13.28 and $14.06 back into focus.
On the other hand, a drop below $10.94 could expose LINK to further downside toward $10.16, with $9.38 becoming a deeper support target if selling pressure continues.
For now, narrowing Bollinger Bands, weakening bearish momentum and nearby liquidation clusters suggest that volatility could soon return.
Whether the next Chainlink price breakout favors buyers or sellers will likely depend on which side of the $10.94–$11.72 range breaks first.
