StableX Technologies has expanded its crypto holdings with a new investment in Chainlink (LINK), marking the company’s second major acquisition as part of its long-term strategy to build a portfolio centered on the stablecoin ecosystem.
The Nasdaq-listed firm confirmed on Oct. 16 that it purchased an undisclosed amount of LINK tokens. The acquisition comes shortly after StableX invested in FLUID, signaling a strong push into digital assets that underpin stablecoin operations.
Why StableX Is Investing in Chainlink
StableX highlighted Chainlink’s core role in ensuring stablecoin reliability. As one of the most dominant oracle networks, Chainlink delivers real-time data feeds, proof-of-reserve verification, and infrastructure support for leading stablecoins such as USDT and USDC.
James Altucher, Digital Treasury Asset Manager at StableX, described the purchase as a strategic cornerstone:
“Chainlink is uniquely positioned to ride the growth of the stablecoin industry, powering critical functions such as price feeds and proof-of-reserve verification. Our investment reflects our belief in the future of the stablecoin ecosystem.”
Chainlink’s Growing Institutional Reach
StableX noted that Chainlink’s influence extends far beyond DeFi. The project has deep partnerships with major global institutions, including:
- Swift
- UBS
- S&P
- The U.S. Department of Commerce
With a 68% market share in decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink is becoming a foundational data layer for both decentralized and traditional finance.
“Chainlink is rapidly becoming the data backbone of global finance,” StableX said, adding that LINK was a “must-own asset” in its plan to build the first pure-play stablecoin-focused investment portfolio.
Part of a $100 Million Expansion Plan
The Chainlink purchase is part of StableX’s $100 million investment strategy targeting crypto assets essential to stablecoin functionality. The company did not reveal the number of LINK tokens acquired.
Stablecoins have seen a surge in adoption across payment rails, DeFi platforms, and institutional finance, encouraging major companies like StableX to double down on the infrastructure supporting them.
