Mantra has just added a heavyweight to its mainnet validator lineup Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by trading volume. This move strengthens the network’s security, decentralization, and credibility, putting Binance alongside other top-tier validators like Nansen, Google Cloud, Twinstake, and Hex Trust.
To celebrate, Binance is offering up to 29.9% APR on OM locked products via Binance Simple Earn until the end of August, giving token holders an extra incentive to get involved.
Part of a Bigger Push for Decentralization
The Binance partnership is part of Mantra’s broader strategy to diversify its validator pool by phasing out internal validators in favor of trusted external partners.
It also comes hot on the heels of Mantra’s strategic alliance with Inveniam, aimed at building a global institutional RWA (real-world assets) ecosystem with hubs in the UAE and U.S.
OM Price Still Struggling
Despite these high-profile partnerships, OM is still battling a prolonged downtrend. The token is trading around $0.26, down 10% in the past 24 hours and far below its $0.40 level. This follows the brutal 90% crash on April 13 a liquidity wipeout triggered by cascading liquidations across centralized exchanges.
Crypto analyst Park Yong notes that the crash wasn’t due to a protocol flaw or failed product:
“OM survived one of the worst liquidity washouts and still expanded its RWA base, tokenized new assets, and kept regulatory clarity. That’s resilience.”
Still, price action shows that investors remain cautious, and regaining confidence will take time.
Expanding the RWA Ecosystem
Mantra has been busy on the partnership front:
- Dimitra – Tokenizing agricultural commodities like cacao and carbon credits.
- WIN Investments – Launching “transfer tokens” linked to FIFA’s Solidarity Mechanism, letting fans participate financially in player transfers.
- Mercado Bitcoin – Brazil’s largest exchange is working with Mantra to tokenize over $200M in assets this year, expanding Mantra’s reach in Latin America.
Bottom line: Binance’s arrival as a validator is a big credibility boost for Mantra’s network, but OM’s price is still in recovery mode. Continued partnerships and RWA growth may help rebuild investor trust but it won’t happen overnight.
