BNB is off to a roaring start this Uptober. The token has broken through the $1,100 threshold and set a fresh all-time high of $1,110.9 on Oct. 3 (Asian trading hours). At press time, BNB was holding steady around $1,100 up 31% from last month’s low and a staggering 107% above its lowest point this year.
A Strong Technical Breakout
BNB’s chart has been flashing bullish signals for weeks. After reclaiming $797.7 a key resistance from December 2023 the token powered higher and is now comfortably above all major moving averages. Importantly, the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) crossed over the 200-day SMA, forming a golden cross, a pattern that has historically signaled prolonged rallies.
Adding fuel to the rally, BNB continues to trade inside an ascending parallel channel that’s been in place since earlier this year. In technical terms, this setup is known as a bullish continuation pattern, and as long as price stays within or above the channel, it suggests steady upside. A decisive breakout above the channel’s upper boundary would point to even stronger gains ahead.
Momentum indicators are also on the bulls’ side. The MACD is climbing with expanding green histograms, and the Aroon indicator shows strong buying pressure, with Aroon Up at 100% and Aroon Down at 50%.
With October historically leaning bullish for crypto markets, analysts say BNB could soon test the $1,200 psychological level. A clean break there might set the stage for an extended move toward $1,550, a target based on Fibonacci retracement projections about 41% above current prices.
Why BNB’s Ecosystem Is Boosting Its Price
Beyond technicals, the fundamentals around the BNB Chain ecosystem have been improving, giving traders more confidence in the rally.
🔹 Cheaper transactions: The BNB Chain recently slashed minimum gas fees to 0.05 Gwei, making transactions faster and cheaper. More upgrades are in the pipeline, which could further enhance network activity.
🔹 Rising on-chain activity: Usage across the network has spiked, driven by projects like Aster and PancakeSwap. According to DeFiLlama, total value locked (TVL) on the BNB Chain climbed 2.2% in the past 24 hours to $14.67 billion. The stablecoin supply has also surged from $11.5 billion to $13.46 billion in just a week.
🔹 User growth: Daily active addresses hit 2.31 million, up 8% in one day, while network fees generated $4.41 million, most of it from PancakeSwap.
🔹 ETF speculation: Traders are also betting on a possible U.S. spot BNB ETF. The optimism grew after reports that the SEC recently withdrew delay notices on several ETF applications, fueling speculation of imminent approval.
🔹 Treasury adoption: BNB is gaining traction as a treasury reserve asset. China’s Jiuzi Holdings announced it would add BNB to its $1B crypto treasury plan, while Kazakhstan’s Alem Crypto Fund, backed by the state and launching with Binance, is reportedly planning to make BNB its first portfolio asset.
The Road Ahead
BNB’s rally is being powered by a mix of technical strength, ecosystem growth, and institutional interest. If bulls can defend $1,076 (the old ATH) as support and push through $1,200, momentum could accelerate toward $1,550 in the coming months.
But as always in crypto, traders are reminded: volatility cuts both ways. A failure to hold key supports, or cooling momentum on-chain, could shift sentiment quickly.
For now though, Uptober belongs to BNB and the bulls are clearly in charge.
