Binance Alpha is removing 20 tokens from its featured list after a recent platform review. The removal is scheduled for May 14 at 06:00 UTC, according to Binance.
The affected tokens are:
PRAI, COMMON, PINGPONG, TAKER, JANITOR, GATA, KLINK, CORL, SWTCH, ARIAIP, LONG, ZKWASM, GORILLA, ECHO, LITKEY, FIR, GM, DELABS, DONKEY, and WHY.
Binance said these tokens no longer meet Binance Alpha’s standards. However, the exchange did not explain the specific reason behind each token’s removal.
Users Can Still Sell or Withdraw Tokens
The removal does not mean users immediately lose access to their assets. Binance said users can still sell or withdraw the affected tokens after they are removed from the Alpha featured list.
Still, the decision may affect visibility for these projects. Binance Alpha is designed to highlight early-stage tokens, so removal from the featured section could reduce attention from traders and weaken short-term demand.
This may be especially important for smaller tokens with lower liquidity, where reduced exposure can lead to sharper price movements.
Binance Warns About Alpha Token Risk
Binance Alpha focuses on newer and early-stage crypto assets. These tokens often carry higher risk than established coins listed on major spot markets.
Binance has warned that Alpha tokens may face higher-than-normal trading risks. They can also see strong price swings because of thin liquidity, early-stage development, and changing market interest.
The latest removal shows that Binance continues to review tokens even after they enter the Alpha channel.
Five Spot Tokens Also Face Delisting
The Alpha cleanup comes as Binance prepares a separate delisting from its spot market.
Binance will delist ATA, FARM, MLN, PHB, and SYS from all spot trading pairs on May 27 at 03:00 UTC.
Deposits for these five tokens will stop being credited after May 28, while withdrawals will remain available until July 27.
Binance said it reviews several factors before delisting tokens, including team commitment, development activity, trading volume, liquidity, network safety, public communication, community engagement, and regulatory requirements.
Binance Tightens Token Review Process
Binance has been taking a stricter approach toward listed and featured assets. The exchange has also introduced more community input into listing and delisting decisions.
Under this system, eligible users can vote on projects that may be listed or removed. However, Binance still carries out its own due diligence before making final decisions.
Earlier in April, Binance removed 14 tokens after its first “Vote to Delist” campaign. That cleanup pointed to issues such as low trading volume, weak development progress, limited community activity, and failure to meet platform or regulatory standards.
What This Means for Traders
For traders, Binance Alpha token removal is a reminder that early-stage assets can carry major risks. A token may gain attention quickly when featured, but it can also lose visibility if it fails to meet platform standards.
The affected tokens are not being fully blocked from user access, but removal from Binance Alpha could reduce market interest. Traders holding these assets may now watch liquidity, price movement, and project updates more closely.
Binance’s latest action also suggests that the exchange is becoming more aggressive in reviewing tokens across both Alpha and spot markets.
