Semler Scientific (NASDAQ: SMLR) has expanded its Bitcoin treasury once again, purchasing an additional 165 BTC for $15.7 million. The move brings the company’s total holdings to 3,467 Bitcoin, now valued at approximately $330.6 million.
CEO Eric Semler announced the acquisition on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), reaffirming the company’s bullish stance on Bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset.
“$SMLR acquires 165 #bitcoins for $15.7 million and has generated BTC Yield of 23.8% YTD. Now holding 3,467 $BTC. We bleed orange. 🚀”

Funded by Equity, Fueled by Conviction
The purchase was financed through Semler’s ongoing $500 million at-the-market (ATM) equity offering. Between April 25 and April 29, the company sold 559,000 shares, raising around $19.5 million in fresh capital. The newly acquired Bitcoin came at an average price of $94,931 per BTC, while the firm’s overall cost basis now stands at $88,263 per BTC.
Semler Scientific has leaned heavily into its Bitcoin strategy since May 2024, when it first declared BTC its primary treasury reserve asset. Its initial accumulation included:
- 581 BTC in May 2024
- 247 BTC in July
- 247 BTC again in August
- 581 BTC in one week during October
By the end of 2024, Semler had amassed over 3,000 BTC. The company has continued building its position aggressively in 2025 through capital raises.
Outperforming Fiat Reserves
Semler reports a year-to-date yield of 23.8% on its BTC holdings, significantly outperforming traditional fiat-based reserves amid ongoing inflation and macroeconomic uncertainty. CEO Semler has consistently framed Bitcoin as a superior store of value, citing its scarcity and decentralized nature.
“Bitcoin is a long-term hedge against inflation and a strategic alternative to cash,” said Semler in a previous investor call.
Institutional Adoption Continues
Semler Scientific’s continued accumulation underscores the growing trend of corporate Bitcoin adoption. While giants like MicroStrategy have dominated headlines in the past, Semler’s methodical, equity-funded approach marks a different, yet equally bold, playbook for integrating BTC into corporate balance sheets.
