Toncoin price has pulled back sharply after a strong rally earlier this month pushed the token to its highest level in several weeks.
TON traded near $2.16 on May 13 after recently climbing as high as $2.90. The correction has raised concerns that bullish momentum may be fading, especially as the token struggles to stay above key short-term support levels.
Even after the latest decline, Toncoin remains well above its April lows near $1.20. However, traders are now watching the $2 support zone closely. A clean break below that level could increase the risk of a deeper pullback.
Toncoin Rally Loses Momentum
Toncoin’s recent rally was supported by stronger sentiment around the TON ecosystem.
Renewed activity in Telegram-linked crypto applications helped improve interest in TON-based assets. Speculation around deeper Telegram blockchain integration also added to the positive mood earlier this month.
That optimism helped push TON from below $1.40 to nearly $2.90 in a short period. But after such a sharp move, profit-taking appears to have increased.
The price failed to hold near the $2.80–$2.90 resistance zone, where sellers became more active. This suggests that traders may be locking in gains after the strong breakout rally.
TON Ecosystem Activity Remains Weak
Despite the recent price recovery, broader activity across the TON ecosystem is still below previous peak levels.
Decentralized finance activity has not fully recovered, and transaction activity remains softer compared with stronger periods last year. Several TON-linked gaming and tap-to-earn tokens are also still trading far below their earlier highs.
This weak ecosystem activity may be limiting the strength of Toncoin’s recovery.
A healthy price rally usually needs support from stronger network usage, rising DeFi activity, and improving investor participation. Without that, short-term rallies can lose steam quickly.
Toncoin Price Analysis
On the daily chart, Toncoin appears to be moving inside a downward-sloping consolidation pattern after its strong rally.
This structure resembles a possible bull flag. A bull flag often forms after a sharp upward move and can signal a pause before another breakout attempt.
For now, TON is still holding above the important $2 level. That means buyers are still defending the broader breakout structure.
However, momentum indicators are starting to weaken. The MACD histogram has begun to fade, while the MACD lines are moving closer to a possible bearish crossover.
If that bearish crossover confirms, it could suggest that short-term selling pressure is building.
Can Toncoin Fall Below $2?
The $2 support zone is now the key level for Toncoin price.
If buyers defend this level, TON could attempt another move toward the upper boundary of the flag near $2.30. A breakout above that area may open the door for a retest of the recent high near $2.90.
If TON breaks above $2.90 with strong volume, the next major target could be the psychological $3 level.
However, if Toncoin fails to hold above $2, the bullish continuation setup may weaken. In that case, the price could move lower toward the $1.80 region.
What Traders Are Watching Next
Traders are now focused on three main signals: whether TON can hold the $2 support level, whether the MACD confirms a bearish crossover, and whether ecosystem activity improves enough to support another rally.
A bounce from $2 could keep the bullish setup alive. But a breakdown below that level would increase the risk of a deeper correction.
For now, Toncoin price remains at an important turning point. Bulls need to defend support quickly, while bears are watching for confirmation of a move below $2.
