Maple Finance’s SYRUP token is catching the eye of savvy investors. On Friday, SYRUP’s price edged up by 1.50%, climbing to $0.5365 just a touch above this week’s low of $0.4912.
That may sound modest, but zoom out and the gains look impressive: the token has skyrocketed more than 520% from its lowest point this year, lifting Maple’s market capitalization to around $638 million.
Smart Money Loads Up on SYRUP
One big reason behind the recent momentum? Smart money investors are buying the dip.
Fresh data from blockchain analytics platform Nansen reveals that sophisticated investors snapped up about $3.13 million worth of SYRUP over the past seven days. That makes it the most heavily bought token among smart money wallets during that stretch.
Nansen’s data also shows the top 100 addresses boosted their SYRUP holdings by 10% in the past week, now holding a combined 1.07 billion tokens. Meanwhile, whale investors increased their stakes by 4%, bringing total whale holdings to 9.27 million tokens. At the same time, SYRUP balances on exchanges dropped by 1.7% to 262 million tokens a sign that investors may be shifting tokens into cold storage to hold for the long term.
Strong Fundamentals Fuel Optimism
It’s not just speculation driving the interest. Maple Finance’s core business is booming.
The platform’s total value locked (TVL) has soared to $2.8 billion, up sharply from $540 million at the start of the year. Active loans on Maple’s platform now exceed $1.2 billion, underlining growing demand for decentralized lending.
Even more telling is revenue: Maple Finance has already pulled in $4 million this year, blowing past the $2.5 million it earned in all of 2024.
SYRUP Price Technicals Look Bullish
From a technical perspective, SYRUP’s chart looks strong. The daily chart shows that Maple Finance formed a double bottom pattern around $0.089 in February and April. It then broke through the neckline at $0.1930 in May and surged higher as whales and smart money piled in.
SYRUP is trading above its 50-day moving average and has established an ascending channel both bullish signals. Indicators like the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and MACD are also on the rise, hinting at ongoing buying pressure.
Given these factors, analysts believe SYRUP could continue climbing. Bulls have their eyes set on resistance around $0.6575 the token’s highest price this year. A decisive break above that level could pave the way for further gains, with some even targeting the $1 mark.
In a crypto market often dominated by volatility and uncertainty, Maple Finance is shaping up to be a standout performer, fueled by strong fundamentals and growing confidence from institutional and smart money investors.
