Litecoin is back in the spotlight after a strong price surge on September 10, 2025. The coin climbed more than 5%, breaking through stubborn resistance levels to hit an intraday high of $118.73 its strongest showing since late August’s market sell-off.
Why Litecoin Is Rising
For weeks, Litecoin had been struggling to push past the $113–$115 zone. But a wave of aggressive buying pressure, led by crypto whales, finally broke the barrier.
Onchain data from Santiment revealed that wallets holding at least 1,000 LTC scooped up an additional 181,000 coins on September 9 alone. That sudden accumulation lit a fire under the market, sparking fresh momentum.
The whale action coincides with growing ETF anticipation. Grayscale, one of the biggest names in crypto asset management, recently filed applications for multiple exchange-traded funds including one tied to Litecoin. If approved, shares of the proposed Grayscale Litecoin ETF would trade on NYSE Arca, giving traditional investors a simple way to gain exposure to LTC.
“While an investment in the shares is not a direct investment in LTC, the shares are designed to provide investors with a cost-effective and convenient way to gain investment exposure to LTC,” Grayscale said in its SEC filing.
Wall Street’s Growing Interest
Beyond ETFs, Litecoin is also getting traction in the corporate world. MEI Pharma, now rebranded as Lite Strategy, has become the first publicly traded U.S. company to adopt Litecoin as a primary reserve asset.
The company, where Litecoin creator Charlie Lee serves as a board member, committed $100 million to a Litecoin treasury strategy. This bold move has amplified investor excitement and strengthened LTC’s Wall Street credibility.
The Bigger Picture
With whales accumulating, ETF filings in play, and institutional adoption expanding, sentiment around Litecoin is turning increasingly bullish. Analysts suggest these catalysts could keep fueling upside momentum if broader market conditions hold steady.
For now, breaking above $118 is more than just a price milestone it’s a sign that Litecoin is re-entering the conversation as one of crypto’s mega-cap gainers.
