Sui’s new AI launchpad, Surge, has officially selected Adapt a multi-agent quantitative trading protocol as the first project to debut on the platform. The selection marks a major milestone for both Sui and the growing intersection between artificial intelligence and decentralized finance.
Adapt Becomes Surge’s First Launch Partner
On October 29, the Sui ecosystem announced that Adapt will be the first project to launch on Surge, its newly introduced AI launchpad. Adapt was chosen out of more than 70 AI-based applicants, underscoring the protocol’s innovation and alignment with Surge’s vision.
“Adapt’s ANP3 protocol links pro trading agents for cutting-edge smart trading that adapts to the user and market dynamics, unlocking advanced DeFi for everyone,” the Surge team shared in a recent post on X.
This collaboration could pave the way for on-chain deployment of AI-powered trading agents, making sophisticated algorithmic strategies accessible to users and developers within the Sui (SUI) blockchain ecosystem.
Surge: Sui’s AI-Driven Incubator
Launched on October 28, Surge is the first AI Agent Launchpad built natively on the Sui blockchain. Its mission is to incubate and accelerate projects that integrate artificial intelligence into Web3 and DeFi applications.
Unlike traditional launchpads, Surge uses a milestone-based funding and token release system to encourage long-term sustainability rather than short-term speculation. Up to 90% of a project’s tokens remain locked until specific development milestones are achieved.
Additionally, Surge integrates liquidity support via the Cetus Protocol, ensuring that newly launched projects can immediately access DeFi liquidity pools after going live a key step in promoting market stability and growth.
The Rise of AI Agents in Crypto
The partnership between Sui and Adapt highlights a broader market trend: the rapid expansion of AI Agent technology in blockchain ecosystems.
According to data from CoinGecko, the AI Agent sector currently commands a $4.4 billion market cap, up 1% in the past 24 hours. AI Agent Launchpads including Surge represent roughly half of that figure at $2.2 billion, having grown 1.8% over the same period.
This steady rise underscores growing investor and developer interest in AI-driven autonomous systems that can execute complex operations across decentralized networks.
Inside Adapt’s ANP3 Protocol
Adapt is built around the concept of multi-agent cooperation in quantitative trading. Its Agent Interconnection Protocol (ANP3) enables autonomous AI agents to communicate, collaborate, and execute complex strategies across multiple blockchain markets.
These agents can optimize liquidity provision, arbitrage, and market-making without human intermediaries, forming what Adapt calls an “Agent DeFi Network” an intelligent, self-learning ecosystem that evolves through machine learning and decentralized governance.
The project aims to redefine how trading strategies are developed and deployed in DeFi by making AI collaboration interoperable and transparent across protocols.
In a recent post, Adapt confirmed that it will continue developing through Surge’s FDV-Milestone vesting model as it integrates fully with the Sui blockchain.
“Let’s look forward to Adapt’s fundraising and token performance on Sui Network!” the team wrote, hinting at an upcoming token event.
A Step Forward for AI and Web3 Integration
By selecting Adapt as its first official project, Sui’s Surge launchpad reinforces its commitment to bridging the gap between AI innovation and decentralized finance.
As more AI agent projects enter the blockchain space, platforms like Surge could play a key role in shaping a future where autonomous agents drive liquidity, governance, and decision-making creating a truly intelligent financial ecosystem.
