Bitcoin remains under pressure after slipping toward the mid-$75,000 range, with technical indicators showing that sellers still have the upper hand.
BTC traded near $75,940 after briefly falling to around $75,350, while weaker momentum and nearby liquidation zones increased the risk of another move lower.
The daily chart places a key Fibonacci support level near $72,547, which could become the next major area to watch if Bitcoin loses the $75,000 region.
Bitcoin price slips below key short-term levels
Bitcoin traded around $75,940 after recovering slightly from an intraday low near $75,350.
Despite the rebound, BTC remained under pressure following a broader market decline.
The move came after the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act in a 49-50 procedural vote, leaving the legislation short of the 60 votes needed to proceed.
The market reaction also triggered heavy liquidations across crypto derivatives.
Around $771 million in leveraged crypto positions were reportedly liquidated over 24 hours, including approximately $568 million in long positions.
That imbalance suggests many traders had been positioned for higher prices before Bitcoin dropped below $76,000.
Bitcoin loses the 4-hour Bollinger Band midpoint
Bitcoin’s 4-hour chart shows BTC trading below the Bollinger Band midpoint near $77,080.
That level has now become an important resistance area for any short-term recovery.
BTC also briefly moved below the lower Bollinger Band near $75,244 before returning inside the indicator.
A move below the lower band can reflect strong selling pressure, but simply moving back inside the bands does not necessarily mean the correction is over.
Bitcoin’s 4-hour Relative Strength Index stood at approximately 37.23.
That is below its signal average of 45.70 but still above the commonly watched oversold threshold of 30.
This leaves room for further downside if buyers fail to defend the current support zone.
$77,080 becomes the first major resistance
For Bitcoin to improve its short-term technical structure, buyers need to reclaim the Bollinger Band midpoint around $77,080.
Above that, the upper band sits near $78,918.
A sustained move above these levels could reduce some of the current bearish pressure.
If Bitcoin fails to recover above $77,000, however, attention could return to the recent low near $75,350.
A confirmed break below that area would put the psychological $75,000 level under additional pressure.
Daily chart highlights $72,547 support
The daily Bitcoin chart points to a more important support area near $72,547.
This level represents the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement measured between a broader low around $57,893 and a high near $126,369.
A decline from approximately $75,940 to $72,547 would represent a drop of roughly 4.5%.
Because this is one of the clearest major technical levels below the current price, traders may watch it closely if selling continues.
Aroon indicator strongly favors sellers
Bitcoin’s daily Aroon indicator currently shows a clear bearish imbalance.
Aroon Down stood near 92.86%, while Aroon Up was only around 7.14%.
A large gap between these readings suggests that recent lows are occurring much more frequently than recent highs.
This supports the idea that sellers currently have stronger control over Bitcoin’s short-term trend.
The Awesome Oscillator also remained negative, with red histogram bars below zero.
Together, the two indicators suggest downside momentum is still dominant.
Bitcoin continues to form lower highs
BTC has formed a series of lower highs since moving above $81,000 earlier in September.
That pattern suggests that buyers have struggled to regain control after each rebound.
Bitcoin would first need to recover the $78,000 to $80,000 region before challenging stronger resistance higher up.
The next major technical barrier sits around $83,000 to $84,051.
The $84,051 level aligns with the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement.
Market analyst Gerla also identified approximately $83,000 as an important recovery level.
According to the analyst’s view, reclaiming that area could improve the broader market structure and create room for a larger rally.
However, that scenario remains conditional because Bitcoin is still trading significantly below that resistance while daily indicators favor sellers.
Liquidation heatmap shows pressure on both sides
Bitcoin’s three-day liquidation heatmap shows major pools of leveraged positions both above and below the current price.
The strongest nearby downside liquidity appears around $74,700 to $74,900.
Additional liquidity is concentrated close to $74,000.
This makes the broader $74,000 to $75,000 range an important downside zone if BTC breaks below its recent low.
Above the market, notable liquidation concentrations sit around $77,700 to $78,000 and $78,300 to $78,700.
If Bitcoin rebounds, those areas could attract price as short positions become vulnerable to forced liquidations.
Another liquidity zone sits near $80,000.
However, BTC would first need to reclaim the 4-hour Bollinger midpoint before those higher levels become more relevant.
Liquidation zones can increase volatility
Liquidation heatmaps do not predict exactly where Bitcoin will move next.
Instead, they highlight areas where large numbers of leveraged positions could be forced to close.
When price approaches one of these zones, liquidations can sometimes accelerate the move.
That means a break below $75,000 could increase pressure toward $74,800 and $74,000.
Similarly, a stronger recovery above $77,000 could push BTC toward the $78,000 area as short positions are squeezed.
Federal Reserve decision adds another source of volatility
Bitcoin was also facing additional uncertainty around the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy decision.
Interest-rate announcements and accompanying guidance can affect Treasury yields, the U.S. dollar and investor demand for risk assets such as Bitcoin.
Trader Lennaert Snyder said Bitcoin had already swept the $75,500 low and suggested that another test of the lows could occur depending on how the market reacts around the Federal Reserve announcement.
That remains one analyst’s scenario rather than a guaranteed market outcome.
What happens if Bitcoin holds $75,000?
The $75,000 level remains one of the most important short-term supports.
If buyers successfully defend it, BTC could attempt another move toward $77,080.
A break above $77,080 would place the $78,000 to $78,918 area back in focus.
A stronger move above $80,000 would further improve the short-term structure.
For a broader bullish reversal, however, Bitcoin would likely need to recover the $83,000 to $84,051 region.
Until then, the larger technical picture remains under pressure.
What happens if Bitcoin breaks below $75,000?
A sustained break below $75,000 would strengthen the bearish case.
The first nearby downside target would likely be the liquidation concentration around $74,700 to $74,900.
Below that, Bitcoin could move toward the broader $74,000 region.
If those levels fail to hold, attention would shift toward the daily Fibonacci support around $72,547.
That level may become an important test for buyers because a breakdown below it could signal that Bitcoin’s correction is becoming deeper.
Bitcoin price outlook
Bitcoin is currently caught between weakening momentum and several important technical support levels.
The short-term structure remains bearish while BTC trades below the 4-hour Bollinger midpoint near $77,080.
A recovery above that level could push price toward $78,918 and potentially the $80,000 area.
The broader bullish structure would improve more significantly if Bitcoin eventually reclaims the $83,000 to $84,051 zone.
On the downside, losing $75,000 could expose liquidity around $74,800 before BTC tests the key Fibonacci support near $72,547.
For now, technical indicators including Aroon and the Awesome Oscillator continue to favor sellers, leaving Bitcoin vulnerable to further volatility.
