Helius, a Solana-focused treasury company, is taking an ambitious leap planning to acquire 5% of the total SOL supply, valued at more than $6 billion, and preparing for a public listing in Hong Kong within the next six months.
The company, which recently rebranded as Solana Company, is positioning itself as one of the largest institutional holders of Solana, signaling a new wave of corporate adoption within the ecosystem.
💼 Solana Company Sets Its Sights on a $6B Treasury
In a recent interview, Executive Chairman Joseph Chee revealed that the company plans to aggressively expand its holdings to control about 5% of Solana’s total supply a move that could make it one of the blockchain’s most influential institutional backers.
“We aim to accumulate up to 5% of Solana’s total supply to strengthen our position as a long-term ecosystem partner,” Chee said, emphasizing the company’s belief in Solana’s scalability and efficiency.
Currently, Solana Company holds 2.2 million SOL and intends to deploy an additional $15 million in cash to grow its treasury portfolio.
🌏 Eyes on Hong Kong: A Public Listing Within Six Months
Alongside its accumulation plan, Solana Company is preparing to pursue a secondary public listing in Hong Kong, pending market capitalization and regulatory requirements.
“We will come here as soon as possible,” Chee said, highlighting the firm’s intent to align with Asia’s expanding crypto and fintech infrastructure. Hong Kong’s evolving stance on digital assets has made it a top destination for blockchain-based firms seeking both regulation and market visibility.
⚙️ Why Solana Over Ethereum?
When asked why the firm chose Solana as its treasury foundation over Ethereum, Chee pointed to Solana’s superior transaction performance, which exceeds 1,500 transactions per second.
“Solana’s scalability and low transaction costs make it an ideal blockchain for real-world treasury operations,” he explained. “Our focus is long-term growth not just speculation.”
This shift reflects a growing institutional preference for high-performance Layer 1 networks capable of supporting large-scale financial operations.
🤝 Backed by Major Crypto Players
The firm’s bold strategy is supported by prominent investors such as Pantera Capital and Xia Yan Capital, along with a formal partnership with the Solana Foundation to accelerate ecosystem development across Asia.
This alliance underscores a broader trend of strategic collaborations between blockchain foundations and traditional finance players seeking stable exposure to next-generation digital assets.
💰 Solana Treasury Trend Gains Momentum
Helius’ move comes amid a rising wave of institutional accumulation of SOL by publicly traded firms. According to the latest industry data, digital asset treasury companies (DATs) collectively hold around 17.8 million SOL, representing 3.1% of the total supply.
Among them, Forward Industries leads with 6.82 million SOL, followed by Sharps Technology with 2.14 million SOL. Others like DeFi Development Corp. and Upexi also hold more than 2 million SOL each.
This growing interest in Solana marks a significant shift away from traditional Bitcoin and Ethereum treasuries, as firms diversify into high-performance blockchain ecosystems offering faster settlement and lower fees.
🧩 The Bigger Picture
The aggressive treasury buildup by Solana Company and other institutions signals a maturing crypto landscape, where blockchain assets are becoming core components of corporate financial strategies.
As public companies increasingly adopt Solana as a strategic treasury asset, its role in institutional portfolios could expand, potentially strengthening both network utility and ecosystem valuation over the coming years.
