Bitwise’s U.S. crypto exchange-traded products attracted approximately $100 million in net inflows on Aug. 27, with Solana emerging as the strongest contributor.
According to Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley, Solana investment products attracted roughly $40 million during the session. Bitcoin products followed with around $22 million, while Hyperliquid and XRP products recorded approximately $20 million and $12 million respectively.
Ethereum products attracted a comparatively modest $1.4 million.
The figures highlight growing investor interest beyond Bitcoin, with altcoin-focused investment products accounting for a significant portion of Bitwise’s reported daily inflows.
Solana Leads Bitwise Crypto ETF Inflows
Solana products were the biggest contributor to Bitwise’s approximately $100 million daily total.
Around $40 million flowed into the company’s Solana products, representing roughly 40% of the reported inflows.
Although Horsley did not provide a complete fund-by-fund breakdown, the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, or BSOL, is the company’s primary U.S. Solana investment product.
BSOL also experienced a significant increase in trading activity.
The fund generated more than $126 million in trading volume during Thursday’s session, marking its highest daily total since launching on NYSE Arca in October 2025.
That surpassed the approximately $108 million in trading volume recorded on Aug. 24.
The surge suggests that investor activity around Solana-based investment products is increasing alongside broader demand for SOL exposure.
BSOL Combines Solana Exposure With Staking
BSOL offers more than basic exposure to changes in Solana’s market price.
The fund stakes most of its SOL holdings and distributes staking rewards after fees and expenses.
Bitwise previously reported that BSOL held approximately 8.18 million SOL and had around 99% of its assets staked.
The fund has also gained additional utility after a major bank reportedly approved BSOL shares as collateral for loans, with a maximum loan-to-value ratio of 25%.
These features could be contributing to investor demand by combining regulated Solana exposure with staking-related returns.
However, a single day of strong inflows does not necessarily establish a long-term shift in institutional preference toward Solana.
Bitcoin Products Attract Around $22M
Bitcoin remained Bitwise’s second-largest category during the session.
The company’s Bitcoin products attracted approximately $22 million in reported inflows.
While significantly below Solana’s $40 million, the figure comes amid broader strength in U.S. Bitcoin exchange-traded products.
Spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded eight consecutive sessions of net inflows through Aug. 26, attracting approximately $2.8 billion during the period.
BlackRock’s IBIT reportedly accounted for approximately $2.02 billion, or about 72%, of those inflows.
The products received around $232 million on Aug. 26, although that was below the approximately $606 million daily peak recorded on Aug. 20.
Hyperliquid and XRP Products Add $32M
Investor demand was not limited to Solana and Bitcoin.
Bitwise’s Hyperliquid products attracted approximately $20 million, making them the third-largest contributor to the company’s reported daily inflows.
XRP products added another $12 million.
Together, Solana, Hyperliquid and XRP products attracted approximately $72 million.
This distribution suggests investors were actively seeking exposure to crypto assets beyond Bitcoin and Ethereum during Thursday’s session.
Hyperliquid products have already shown signs of increasing institutional interest.
Bitwise’s BHYP previously became the largest Hyperliquid ETF after recording approximately $19 million in daily inflows in May.
XRP exchange-traded products have also experienced increased activity, with cumulative XRP ETF flows previously surpassing approximately $1.57 billion as trading volume reached record levels.
Ethereum Products See Modest Inflows
Ethereum was noticeably weaker within Bitwise’s reported numbers.
The company’s Ethereum products attracted approximately $1.4 million during the session.
Combining the disclosed figures gives approximately $95.4 million across Solana, Bitcoin, Hyperliquid, XRP and Ethereum products.
That leaves a small difference compared with Horsley’s roughly $100 million headline figure.
The difference could reflect inflows into other Bitwise products or simply rounding within the preliminary figures.
Importantly, the figures were based on preliminary issuer disclosures rather than a complete fund-by-fund daily creation report.
Official data will provide clearer confirmation of how much new capital entered individual products.
$126M BSOL Trading Volume Is Not the Same as Inflows
One important distinction is the difference between ETF trading volume and net inflows.
BSOL recorded more than $126 million in trading volume, but this does not mean investors deposited $126 million of new capital into the fund.
Trading volume measures the total value of ETF shares exchanged between buyers and sellers during a trading session.
The same shares can change hands several times without increasing the total number of shares outstanding.
High trading volume therefore demonstrates strong activity and liquidity, but it does not necessarily represent new investor capital entering a fund.
Net inflows work differently.
Inflows generally occur when authorized participants create additional ETF shares in response to investor demand. Outflows happen when shares are redeemed and capital leaves the product.
As a result, BSOL’s $126 million in trading volume was more than three times the approximately $40 million attributed to Bitwise’s entire Solana product category.
Much of the remaining activity involved existing ETF shares changing hands rather than new money entering the funds.
Altcoins Capture Significant Share of Bitwise Inflows
Thursday’s distribution provides an interesting snapshot of investor demand across Bitwise’s crypto products.
Solana, Hyperliquid and XRP collectively accounted for approximately $72 million in reported inflows.
Bitcoin and Ethereum, by comparison, attracted roughly $23.4 million combined.
The numbers suggest that investors were willing to expand their exposure beyond the two largest cryptocurrencies during the session.
However, ETF creation data do not identify exactly who purchased the exposure.
The buyers could include financial advisers, hedge funds, brokerages, institutional investors or other market participants.
For that reason, the data demonstrate where capital moved but do not provide a complete picture of who was behind those allocations.
Broader Crypto ETF Demand Remains Strong
Bitwise’s strong session comes during a wider recovery in cryptocurrency investment products.
Bitcoin was trading near $79,770 on Aug. 28 after reaching an intraday high around $81,280.
The cryptocurrency had gained approximately 28% during August as ETF demand, a weaker U.S. dollar and changes in long-term Treasury markets helped support its recovery.
Growing demand for regulated cryptocurrency products could provide additional support to the broader market.
However, strong ETF inflows do not guarantee continued price increases.
Investment flows can reverse quickly, particularly when market sentiment changes, and inflows sometimes follow existing price momentum rather than predict future performance.
Can Solana Continue Leading Bitwise ETF Demand?
The next major question is whether Solana can maintain its position as Bitwise’s strongest product category.
Approximately $40 million of the company’s roughly $100 million in reported daily inflows went toward Solana products, while BSOL recorded its highest trading volume since launch.
The combination points to unusually strong activity around Solana exposure.
Still, one trading session is not enough to establish a lasting trend.
Official fund-level creation data will provide additional confirmation by showing whether Thursday’s activity increased shares outstanding and assets under management.
Investors will also be watching whether future allocations continue favoring Solana, Hyperliquid and XRP or rotate back toward Bitcoin and Ethereum.
For now, the Aug. 27 figures demonstrate that institutional and market interest in regulated crypto investment products is expanding beyond Bitcoin, with Solana taking the lead during one of Bitwise’s strongest recent sessions.
