Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), has officially entered the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, marking his debut with an estimated net worth of $7.37 billion.
Crypto-fueled fortune
Saylor’s wealth has grown by $1 billion in 2025 alone, thanks largely to Bitcoin’s rally toward the $111,000 mark. Bloomberg estimates that about $6.72 billion of his fortune is tied to Strategy stock, with another $650 million held in cash.
That deep connection to his company and its aggressive Bitcoin strategy makes Saylor one of the most Bitcoin-exposed billionaires in the world.
Strategy’s Bitcoin dominance
Since making its first Bitcoin purchase in 2020, Strategy has become the largest corporate holder of BTC. As of September 2025, the firm controls 636,505 Bitcoin, valued at roughly $76 billion.
The average purchase price across all acquisitions is about $73,288 per coin, representing a total investment of $46.1 billion.
Recent acquisitions highlight the firm’s continued conviction:
- Sept. 2: 4,048 BTC at an average of $110,981 ($449.25M)
- Aug. 25: 3,081 BTC at $115,829 ($356.87M)
- Aug. 18: 430 BTC at $119,666 ($51.46M)
- Aug. 11: 155 BTC at $116,401 ($18.04M)
Each purchase reinforces Strategy’s role as the leading corporate buyer of Bitcoin, with no signs of slowing down.
A new name in the billionaire ranks
Saylor now ranks 491st on Bloomberg’s global rich list, joining the growing club of crypto billionaires whose wealth is tied directly to digital assets. His debut comes even as Bitcoin has cooled slightly, trading around $111,000 down 4.3% over the past month.
For Saylor, however, the long-term bet remains unchanged: accumulate Bitcoin, hold through volatility, and let the numbers compound.
