Two teenage streamers on pump.fun just pulled off one of the wildest meme coin stunts of the year: leaking what appears to be an unreleased Drake track to promote their Solana-based token, BAGWORK.
The Leak That Went Viral
Over the weekend, the duo went live from the backseat of a car, blasting a song they claimed was straight from Drake’s upcoming album ICEMAN. Both wore plain white T-shirts with “BAGWORK” scribbled across the front in thick black marker.
“First time this song is ever played,” one streamer declared.
“Buy f**king BAGWORK right now!” the other shouted.
The clip spread like wildfire across social media, eventually landing on Drake’s radar. According to Rolling Stone, the rapper was blindsided by the leak and even phoned into Adin Ross’s Kick stream to clear the air.
“I don’t even know who the f**k those kids are,” Drake told Ross, shutting down speculation that it was some kind of guerrilla marketing campaign.
The BAGWORK streamers later claimed Ross messaged them privately to ask how they got the track but they told him to join their stream if he wanted answers. Ross never took them up on it.
Drake Effect Sends BAGWORK Soaring
Whether real or fake, the song’s connection to Drake was enough to supercharge BAGWORK. The token exploded nearly 3,000% in under 24 hours, with its market cap rocketing from under $5 million to over $53.8 million.
Price action showed BAGWORK spiking from around $0.001 to above $0.05 before crashing back down. Within just two days, the hype collapsed BAGWORK retraced more than 80%, sliding to around $0.0095 with a market cap near $10.3 million.
Meanwhile, the devs behind BAGWORK pocketed serious cash. Pump.fun data shows they earned over $83,000 in creator fees in the first 48 hours. That number has since dropped to roughly $35,000 as trading volume cooled.
Not Their First Stunt
This isn’t the first time the BAGWORK duo has pulled antics to get attention. They’ve previously claimed to leak unreleased tracks from Future, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti. Just last week, one of them even ran onto the field during a Los Angeles Dodgers game to plug the token.
Their BAGWORK wallet shows they’ve launched more than a dozen tokens on pump.fun, holding a balance of about $20,000 in Solana.
