Chainlink’s native token, LINK, touched an intraday high of $26.51 on August 19 before easing back to around $24.72, capping off an impressive month-long rally. The token is now up nearly 30% over the past 30 days and 13% in just the last week.
Even so, LINK still trades more than 50% below its all-time high of $52.70, set back in May 2021. But the latest rally is backed by strong on-chain data, suggesting this momentum may have deeper roots than mere speculation.
Wallet Activity at Yearly Highs
According to analytics firm Santiment, Chainlink recorded its strongest wallet activity of 2025 in mid-August. On August 17, more than 9,800 addresses moved tokens, while August 18 saw 9,600 new wallets created both yearly highs.
Such spikes in wallet creation and transaction volume are often seen as signs of organic network growth. For Chainlink, this surge suggests renewed demand from both institutional players and retail investors, laying the groundwork for a potentially more sustainable price climb.
Fundamental Drivers of LINK’s Rally
Chainlink’s gains are not happening in isolation. Several key developments have fueled investor optimism:
- Chainlink Reserve launch – Earlier this month, Chainlink introduced a treasury mechanism that locks away revenue from enterprise integrations. Over 100,000 LINK tokens have already been absorbed, creating deflationary pressure on supply.
- ICE partnership – On August 11, Chainlink partnered with Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, to integrate precious metals and foreign exchange data into its Data Streams product.
- Institutional bridges – Building on past collaborations with DTCC and SWIFT, Chainlink continues to position itself as a critical bridge between traditional finance and blockchain.
- Rising adoption – Chainlink now secures more than $90 billion in total value across DeFi protocols and real-world asset tokenization platforms.
- Regulatory tailwinds – The signing of the GENIUS Act, recognizing oracles as critical infrastructure, alongside Chainlink’s input in SEC guidance, has boosted sentiment even further.
Technical Picture: Resistance Ahead at $30
From a technical perspective, LINK remains in a bullish trend. Moving averages from the 10-day through the 200-day all favor buyers, while the MACD indicator points upward.
However, momentum indicators show the token is nearing overbought territory: the RSI sits at 64 and the Stochastic at 87. This could mean short-term pullbacks are likely before the next leg higher.
If the rally continues, LINK faces resistance in the $27.50–$28.00 range, with the next big psychological barrier at $30. On the downside, strong support lies around $21.00, with an initial cushion near $22.50.
Outlook: Eyes on $30
With wallet activity surging, new partnerships, and stronger fundamentals, Chainlink appears to be regaining momentum after months of sideways action. If adoption trends continue and buying pressure holds, a push toward $30 looks increasingly within reach.
