Global cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has officially integrated with India’s Sahyog Portal under the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), marking a significant step in enhancing regulatory compliance and cooperation with Indian law enforcement.
According to a press release issued on June 23, the move allows Bitget to streamline data sharing and digital evidence submission processes in response to official requests from Indian authorities investigating cybercrime and digital asset-related offenses.
“India’s regulatory and enforcement landscape around digital assets is evolving quickly, and aligning with initiatives like Sahyog highlights a practical step forward,” said Hon NG, Chief Legal Officer at Bitget.
A Unified Platform for Lawful Access
The Sahyog Portal, launched by I4C under the Ministry of Home Affairs, provides a centralized, secure interface for law enforcement agencies across India to submit legal data requests to digital platforms, including crypto exchanges, fintech firms, and social media operators.
Through this integration, Indian authorities can request user data, transaction histories, and other relevant records under provisions such as Section 94 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act.
This initiative aims to expedite investigations and enhance traceability in financial crimes involving cryptocurrencies a space that has seen rising activity from scammers, fraudsters, and cybercriminals.
Bitget Joins Over 45 Crypto Firms on the Portal
Bitget becomes the latest in a growing list of domestic and international crypto platforms to join the Sahyog network. According to a report by Hindustan Times, more than 45 exchanges have already been integrated, including WazirX, KuCoin, Bybit, and other prominent players.
Efforts are underway to onboard additional global exchanges like Binance, as Indian authorities continue to tighten regulatory frameworks and improve enforcement capabilities in the digital assets sector.
Strengthening India’s Crypto Oversight
Bitget’s participation in Sahyog comes as India ramps up efforts to bring greater accountability and transparency to the crypto ecosystem. The country’s approach, which includes taxation, KYC mandates, and now platform-level compliance integrations, reflects a growing alignment with global best practices in crypto regulation.
This is not Bitget’s first foray into regulatory partnerships in the region. The exchange recently secured a digital asset license in Georgia and has actively partnered with Web3 ecosystems like Avalanche to support blockchain growth in India and other emerging markets.
Final Thoughts
Bitget’s integration with India’s Sahyog Portal marks a strategic milestone in global crypto compliance. By offering streamlined cooperation with Indian law enforcement, Bitget reinforces its commitment to regulatory engagement and helps position itself as a trusted exchange in one of the world’s largest digital economies.
As more crypto exchanges join the portal, India’s ability to investigate and combat digital financial crimes especially those involving crypto stands to become significantly more robust and responsive.
