Hyperliquid’s native token, HYPE, is showing signs of a powerful rebound setup, with analysts pointing to an 80% upside potential if current technical patterns hold. After surging to a new all-time high of $45.57 earlier this week, the token has experienced a modest 16.7% pullback, now trading at $37.96 still up a staggering 270% year-to-date.
Despite short-term cooling, bullish momentum appears to be intact, supported by strong on-chain fundamentals, institutional interest, and a favorable technical outlook.
Technical Setup Points to $68.3 Target
According to data from crypto.news, HYPE has been trading within a well-respected ascending channel since April, maintaining support near the 78.6% Fibonacci retracement level. The 20-day exponential moving average (EMA) is rising steadily and currently acts as dynamic support, reinforcing the continuation bias.
If HYPE rebounds decisively from current levels, it could trigger a rally toward the 1.618 Fibonacci extension at $68.3, representing an 80% increase from its current price.
However, failure to hold the 20-day EMA could open the door to a short-term retracement toward the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) at $31.52.
Institutional Demand and Whale Accumulation
Fundamental catalysts are adding fuel to HYPE’s bullish setup:
- Eyenovia, a Nasdaq-listed biotech firm, recently announced a $50 million allocation into HYPE and plans to rebrand as Hyperion DeFi, signaling a bold pivot into decentralized finance.
- Lion Group secured a $600 million credit line to build an on-chain treasury around HYPE, alongside Solana and Sui, with plans to list on an Asian stock exchange.
These institutional moves have coincided with renewed whale activity. On-chain tracker Lookonchain reported a whale depositing $4 million USDC on the Hyperliquid exchange to accumulate HYPE, a move that often precedes increased retail engagement.
On-Chain Metrics Strengthen the Bullish Case
Hyperliquid’s total value locked (TVL) has soared to $2.41 billion, an 80% jump over the last 30 days, according to DeFiLlama. This rise in TVL reflects accelerating ecosystem usage and capital inflows, both key indicators of growing user confidence.
Additionally, Hyperliquid’s revenue model structurally supports token demand. The protocol directs 97% of all platform revenue to HYPE buybacks, creating continuous upward pressure on price. Both fee generation and buyback volumes have been trending higher over the past six months, adding solid fundamentals to the bullish narrative.
Breakout Potential Builds
With HYPE holding key technical support levels, drawing renewed interest from institutions and whales, and posting rising on-chain engagement, the token appears technically and fundamentally positioned for a continuation move.
A breakout toward the $68.3 target could be in play if buyers continue defending current levels, particularly amid renewed sentiment and capital flows into the Hyperliquid Layer-1 ecosystem.
As always, traders should monitor broader market conditions, including interest rate policies and geopolitical developments, which continue to influence short-term risk appetite.
