Hamilton Lane, one of the world’s largest private markets investment managers, has officially taken a major step into blockchain. The firm’s flagship Senior Credit Opportunities Fund (SCOPE) is now tokenized and live on the Sei Network, in partnership with the real-world asset (RWA) platform KAIO.
The move marks a significant milestone in the growing adoption of institutional-grade blockchain finance, expanding access to private credit for qualified investors worldwide.
Institutional Finance Meets Blockchain
Announced on October 15, the launch brings Hamilton Lane’s well-established private credit strategy fully on-chain through KAIO’s infrastructure.
“This launch marks another major milestone in institutional blockchain adoption,” said Olivier Dang, Chief Operating Officer at KAIO.
“By using the Sei Network, we’re bringing composable access to leading fund strategies entirely on-chain. It’s the foundation for real-time, programmable financial infrastructure built for the next era of investing.”
Through the KAIO platform, accredited and institutional investors can gain compliant, tokenized access to SCOPE. KAIO handles all KYC and regulatory checks, ensuring full alignment with U.S. financial regulations.
Tokenization Expands Access to Private Credit
The Sei Network known for its high-speed Layer 1 architecture optimized for financial applications serves as the blockchain foundation for the tokenized fund.
By leveraging Sei’s infrastructure, Hamilton Lane can offer digitally native investors a more efficient, transparent, and composable way to invest in private credit, traditionally one of the most exclusive corners of finance.
“Hamilton Lane has been an early mover in embracing technology that enables a broader group of investors access to private markets,” said Victor Jung, Head of Digital Assets at Hamilton Lane.
“KAIO’s integration with the Sei Network provides access to digitally native investors who are increasingly looking to diversify their portfolios into private assets.”
This integration allows institutional and accredited investors to subscribe, redeem, and track fund performance through a seamless on-chain interface replacing legacy paperwork with tokenized fund shares that operate in real time.
Bridging Traditional Finance and On-Chain Assets
Hamilton Lane brings over 30 years of experience in private markets, managing approximately $986 billion in assets. The firm’s push toward blockchain reflects a broader trend among asset managers tokenizing traditional financial products for better liquidity and accessibility.
Meanwhile, KAIO has quickly emerged as a key player in RWA tokenization, managing more than $200 million in real-world assets from major financial institutions, including BlackRock, Brevan Howard, and Laser Digital.
By collaborating with Hamilton Lane and Sei, KAIO is building a bridge between Wall Street capital and DeFi infrastructure, allowing funds like SCOPE to operate transparently and efficiently in the digital economy.
A Glimpse Into the Future of Private Markets
Tokenizing SCOPE represents more than just a technical milestone it’s a sign of where institutional finance is headed.
With blockchain-based infrastructure enabling instant settlement, programmable compliance, and fractional access, private markets are poised to become far more inclusive.
Hamilton Lane’s on-chain launch shows that real-world asset tokenization is no longer theoretical it’s becoming the new standard for institutional investment management.
As the line between TradFi and DeFi continues to blur, initiatives like this one signal a shift toward a more transparent, connected, and borderless financial ecosystem.
