U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs are showing no signs of slowing down. For the sixth straight week, these investment vehicles have attracted billions in fresh capital even as Bitcoin itself struggles to break decisively above the $120,000 mark.
According to SoSoValue, the 12 spot Bitcoin ETFs brought in a whopping $2.39 billion in net inflows last week, pushing their six-week total to $10.5 billion. Since their launch, these ETFs have now amassed an impressive $54.75 billion in total net inflows and collectively hold about $152.4 billion worth of BTC roughly 6.5% of the total Bitcoin market cap.
BlackRock Dominates Weekly Inflows
The week of July 14–18 saw a steady stream of inflows, beginning with:
- $297.4M on Monday
- $403M on Tuesday
- $799.4M on Wednesday
- $522.6M on Thursday
- And $363.45M on Friday
BlackRock’s IBIT led the pack by a large margin, pulling in $2.57 billion during the week. Grayscale’s BTC and VanEck’s HODL followed at a distant second and third, with $41.9M and $31M in net inflows, respectively.
Other funds like Bitwise’s BITB, Invesco’s BTCO, Franklin Templeton’s EZBC, and WisdomTree’s BTCW added another $35 million combined, though their impact was slightly offset by outflows from Grayscale’s GBTC, ARK 21Shares’s ARKB, and Fidelity’s FBTC, which saw total outflows of $290.8 million.
Ethereum ETFs Have Their Best Week Yet
While Bitcoin ETFs continue to rake in institutional money, it was Ethereum ETFs that truly stole the show last week.
The nine spot ETH ETFs brought in $2.18 billion in net inflows a massive 140% increase from the week prior, marking their best inflow week since launch. In fact, ETH funds have now enjoyed 10 consecutive weeks of inflows, pulling in more than $5 billion total over that stretch.
According to market analyst Nate Geraci, between both BTC and ETH spot ETFs, nearly $25 billion has flowed into these products so far in 202a clear sign of growing institutional appetite for crypto exposure.
Price Performance: Ethereum Rises, Bitcoin Slows
In terms of performance, Ethereum is clearly leading the charge.
- ETH has climbed 25% over the past week, breaking back above $3,800 for the first time since December 2024.
- Bitcoin, on the other hand, has pulled back 2.2%, weighed down by selling pressure as some investors lock in profits near all-time highs.
As a result, analysts expect Bitcoin to trade sideways in the near term, with much of the market’s liquidity and excitement flowing into altcoins, Ethereum chief among them.
Bottom Line
Institutional investors are pouring capital into both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs but right now, Ethereum is capturing the momentum. With inflows climbing and ETH price surging, it’s taking the lead while Bitcoin steadies just below record levels. For now, it seems the altcoin season is in full swing and Wall Street is along for the ride.
