Global cryptocurrency exchange OKX is reinforcing its presence in Europe with the launch of two fully regulated centralized exchanges in Germany and Poland, offering compliant crypto services to both retail and institutional investors across the European Economic Area (EEA).
Localized, Compliant Crypto Services for Europe
The newly launched platforms will provide a comprehensive suite of offerings, including:
- Spot trading
- Staking services
- Euro-based deposits
- More than 270 listed cryptocurrencies
- Over 60 crypto-to-euro trading pairs
The exchanges boast deep liquidity, low fees, and localized customer support, reflecting OKX’s effort to align with Europe’s evolving crypto regulatory landscape.
“We’re proud to be one of the first exchanges operating under MiCA compliance,” said an OKX spokesperson. “This expansion is about offering secure, regulated crypto access to European users with full transparency and localized support.”
Backed by MiCA and MiFID II Licenses
This strategic expansion comes on the heels of OKX securing its Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) registration earlier this year, granting it the ability to operate legally across all 28 EEA member states. OKX also obtained a MiFID II license in March by acquiring a licensed entity in Malta, solidifying its regulatory presence in Europe.
These licenses position OKX as a key player in the post-MiCA European crypto economy, ahead of the 2026 enforcement deadline for full MiCA implementation.
Global Challenges Amid European Growth
The exchange’s European growth contrasts with ongoing legal challenges in other jurisdictions. In Thailand, regulators recently filed a complaint against OKX for operating without a license, as part of a broader crackdown on unregulated digital asset platforms.
In the United States, OKX settled with the Department of Justice earlier this year, agreeing to pay $505 million to resolve charges involving sanctions violations and unauthorized access by U.S. users. The company has since pivoted to a regulated U.S. relaunch, including a self-custody wallet and a new exchange model.

OKX’s European debut signals a new chapter for global crypto platforms seeking long-term sustainability through compliance. As regulators continue to tighten oversight, the company’s approach could serve as a blueprint for how exchanges can navigate legal landscapes while maintaining growth and user engagement.
