Trump Media & Technology Group has officially confirmed Feb. 2, 2026, as the record date for its upcoming shareholder crypto token airdrop, marking a new step in the company’s expanding blockchain strategy.
The record date will determine which investors are eligible to receive the digital token. To qualify, shareholders must own at least one full share of DJT stock and be listed as either a beneficial owner or a registered holder as of Feb. 2.
According to the announcement, Trump Media has partnered with Crypto.com, which will handle both the minting and custody of the non-transferable token on the blockchain.
The initiative was first revealed on Dec. 31, when the company described the token as a shareholder reward rather than a financial instrument. Trump Media emphasized that the token will not represent equity ownership, voting rights, or any financial claim on the business. Instead, it is designed as a utility token offering access to exclusive benefits, perks, and discounts across the company’s digital platforms.
These utilities are expected to be tied to Trump Media’s growing product ecosystem, including Truth Social, Truth+, and Truth Predict. While the company initially indicated that the airdrop would follow a 1:1 distribution ratio one token per DJT share the latest update did not restate this detail. Trump Media said additional information regarding the allocation process will be shared at a later date.
Commenting on the initiative, Trump Media CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes said the company aims to leverage Crypto.com’s blockchain infrastructure in line with U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission guidance. He added that the structure will help improve transparency by providing clearer insight into verified beneficial ownership as of the record date.
The market reacted swiftly to the news, with Trump Media shares jumping more than 7% on Monday following the announcement. However, most of those gains were later erased by the close of the trading session.
Trump Media’s growing blockchain ambitions
The shareholder token is part of a broader push by Trump Media to integrate blockchain technology into its operations. Over the past year, the company has rolled out several crypto-focused initiatives aimed at expanding its fintech footprint.
Through its partnership with Crypto.com, Trump Media is also involved in a SPAC merger with Yorkville Acquisition Corp. to form Trump Media Group CRO Strategy, an entity designed to accumulate CRO tokens and support the broader Cronos ecosystem.
In addition, the company has previously disclosed plans for a market prediction platform called Truth Predict, as well as a suite of cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds under its fintech division, Truth.Fi. Together, these efforts signal Trump Media’s intent to position blockchain and digital assets as a core component of its long-term growth strategy.
