Aster is consolidating just below a key resistance level as trading activity accelerates following the launch of perpetual futures via Binance Wallet. Rising volume and open interest suggest fresh positioning is entering the market, even as price action remains compressed.
At press time, ASTER was trading near $0.7402, down about 1.5% on the day. Over the past week, price has ranged between $0.6847 and $0.7736, while the token remains roughly 10% lower on a 30-day basis.
Volume and derivatives activity surge
Despite the muted daily move, market participation has increased sharply. Aster’s 24-hour spot trading volume jumped 45% to $378 million, signaling renewed interest from traders.
Derivatives metrics point to a similar trend. Futures trading volume rose 46% to $816 million, while open interest increased 2.15% to $454 million, according to data from CoinGlass. This combination typically indicates new positions being opened rather than simple position rotation.
Binance Wallet launches Aster perpetuals
The rise in activity follows Aster’s Jan. 14 launch of perpetual futures trading through Binance Wallet, allowing users to trade on-chain perps directly from self-custody wallets. The product supports leverage of up to 100x and is live on BNB Smart Chain.
To support the rollout, Aster and Binance Wallet also introduced an on-chain perps campaign offering rewards of up to 200,000 USDT. Trades executed via Binance Wallet earn Aster points, which count toward incentive programs, trading competitions, and broader rewards initiatives.
The integration builds on previous wallet partnerships with Trust Wallet and SafePal, reinforcing Aster’s role as a backend infrastructure provider for wallet-native perpetual trading.
Ecosystem growth and upcoming milestones
Beyond the perps launch, Aster’s roadmap includes several near-term catalysts. The project’s layer-1 testnet is already live, with a mainnet launch targeted for Q1 2026. ASTER staking is expected to follow in Q2, introducing on-chain governance and deeper community participation.
In the meantime, trading competitions and ongoing airdrop campaigns continue to attract new users and support network activity.
Aster price technical outlook
From a technical perspective, ASTER is in a consolidation phase following a strong impulse move. Price recently rallied from the $0.69 area into the $0.78–$0.79 zone before pulling back into a tighter range.
The former breakout region around $0.72–$0.73 is holding as support, aligning with prior consolidation and the lower Bollinger Band. As long as this zone remains intact, the short-term structure stays constructive.
After expanding during the rally, Bollinger Bands are now beginning to contract. Price is rotating around the mid-band near $0.74, while the upper band sits close to $0.76. This compression often precedes a volatility expansion rather than prolonged sideways drift.
Momentum indicators suggest cooling rather than weakness. The Relative Strength Index has reset from overbought conditions back toward neutral. Smaller candle bodies and repeated upper wicks near $0.78–$0.80 show sellers defending that supply zone, though without aggressive follow-through.
A decisive break and sustained hold above $0.76 would bring the $0.78–$0.80 resistance area back into focus. On the downside, a loss of $0.72 could expose a move toward $0.70, where the next major support sits.
