Pump.fun is once again under scrutiny after another large stablecoin transfer hit the blockchain. On Nov. 27, the project moved $75 million in USDC to Kraken, reigniting debate over its recent pattern of massive fund movements.
Blockchain analysis shared by EmberCN shows that Pump.fun has now sent roughly $480 million to Kraken in just 12 days, all traced back to USDC raised during its initial coin offering. These repeated transfers have fueled speculation about the team’s intentions and the health of the project.
New Transfers Renew Speculation
Shortly after the $75 million arrived at Kraken, approximately $69.26 million USDC left the exchange and moved to Circle the company behind USDC. This mirrors an earlier sequence reported on Nov. 24, when $405 million flowed into Kraken and nearly $466 million moved to Circle soon after.
Analysts note that this behavior typically aligns with USDC redemptions, which occurs when USDC is exchanged for real dollars. That’s why market watchers immediately raised concerns.
Pump.fun Team Responds to Claims
Co-founder Sapijiju has rejected all allegations of cashing out. He stated that the transfers are part of the project’s routine treasury management, not attempts to withdraw liquidity. He also claimed that Pump.fun has never worked directly with Circle, insisting that none of the flows represent a cash-out.
According to the team, USDC from the ICO is being redistributed across wallets to support operations, development, and platform stability.
Ongoing Controversy Around Token Allocation
The latest dispute adds to a growing list of concerns about Pump.fun’s token distribution and internal structure.
- The private round allocated 18% of PUMP’s one-trillion supply to early investors at $0.004, raising around $720 million.
- Analysts later found that insiders and early investors controlled over 50% of the supply when trading began a move the community argued gave disproportionate power to early buyers and distorted market dynamics.
- Pump.fun has generated over $910 million in revenue, according to Dune Analytics, despite declining activity and ongoing criticism.
These issues, combined with questions about treasury movements, have increased market anxiety. Observers point to insider holdings, side wallet activity, and uncertainty over token buybacks as contributors to PUMP’s recent weakness.
Legal Pressure & Market Impact
Pump.fun is also dealing with class-action lawsuits in New York, accusing the company of selling unregistered securities and making misleading statements about expected returns. The legal scrutiny has further dented investor confidence.
At the time of writing, PUMP trades at $0.00294, down 38% over the past month. Analysts at Coincodex expect more downside through December, citing high volatility and an Extreme Fear rating of 15 on the Fear & Greed Index.
With regulatory pressure rising and the community divided over treasury flows, the coming weeks may be crucial for Pump.fun as it attempts to restore trust and stabilize market sentiment.
