Grayscale is expanding its footprint in the crypto ETF market, with both its Dogecoin (GDOGE) and XRP (GXRP) spot ETFs officially cleared for listing on the New York Stock Exchange. NYSE Arca, the exchange’s subsidiary, confirmed regulatory approval through two separate filings submitted to the SEC on November 21, paving the way for trading to begin later today.
These new ETFs give investors a regulated and simplified way to gain exposure to Dogecoin and XRP without the need to purchase or custody the tokens directly. Both products operate as spot ETFs, meaning they are backed by actual DOGE and XRP holdings.
Analysts Expect Strong First-Day Trading for GDOGE
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas weighed in on early expectations, predicting that the Dogecoin ETF could see roughly $11 million in first-day trading volume. While he noted this as an initial estimate, the market appears to be watching closely.
Balchunas also hinted that Grayscale’s Chainlink ETF (GLNK) might be the next product to receive a green light, potentially as early as next week.
Altcoin ETFs Are Building Momentum
The approval comes amid a surge of altcoin-focused ETFs entering the U.S. market. Recent launches from Bitwise, Canary Capital, Franklin Templeton, and 21Shares have intensified the competition.
- Bitwise’s Solana ETF posted nearly $70 million in net inflows on launch day.
- Canary Capital’s XRP ETF surpassed $250 million in first-day trading activity.
- Litecoin and HBAR funds have also joined the new wave of regulated crypto investment vehicles.
These products are benefiting from updates in SEC policy that have streamlined the approval process, cutting through years of procedural delays.
Market Conditions May Temper Today’s Debut
Despite the excitement, Grayscale’s new Dogecoin and XRP ETFs may face a slower-than-usual start. The broader crypto market has been under pressure, with Bitcoin dipping to multi-month lows and investors rotating into safer positions ahead of year end.
Both Grayscale and BlackRock have seen notable outflows from their crypto funds recently as traders lock in profits.
Even so, today’s listings mark a pivotal moment in expanding mainstream access to altcoin investments and could set the stage for even more spot ETFs in the months ahead.
