DeFi Dev Corp Increases Its SOL Holdings
According to an Oct. 16 press release, DeFi Development Corp. has purchased 86,307 Solana (SOL) tokens as part of its ongoing treasury expansion strategy.
The acquisition, completed at an average price of $110.91 per SOL, brings the company’s total holdings to 2,195,926 SOL a position valued at approximately $426 million at current market prices.
The company confirmed that these newly acquired tokens will be staked long-term across multiple validators, including its own infrastructure, to generate ongoing yield and reinforce its commitment to the Solana ecosystem.
Methodical Deployment of Treasury Capital
This latest purchase marks a 4.7% increase in DeFi Dev Corp’s total Solana holdings, demonstrating the firm’s disciplined approach to building a robust, yield-generating treasury.
The company continues to deploy funds raised through its recent equity financing, maintaining a strategy that prioritizes consistent accumulation over short-term market timing.
Backed by prominent investors from the digital asset and exchange sectors, DeFi Dev Corp was founded by former Kraken employees who have leveraged their experience to establish a scalable validator infrastructure. This setup supports both the company’s internal staking operations and those of external institutional clients.
With its growing exposure, DeFi Dev Corp now ranks among the top five public holders of Solana, following major names such as Forward Industries, backed by Galaxy Digital, Jump Crypto, and Multicoin Capital, which collectively hold nearly 7 million SOL.
Global Expansion Through Partnership with Superteam Japan
The acquisition follows shortly after DeFi Dev Corp’s announcement of a strategic partnership with Superteam Japan, launching DFDV JP the first Solana-centric corporate treasury initiative in Japan.
Part of the firm’s Treasury Accelerator Program, the new venture aims to provide operational support, validator infrastructure, and balance sheet seeding for enterprises adopting Solana in the Asia-Pacific region.
Superteam Japan, known for forging alliances with institutions such as Minna Bank and Fireblocks, will play a pivotal role in integrating Solana into Japan’s highly regulated financial environment.
This collaboration underscores DeFi Dev Corp’s broader goal: to embed Solana into the global digital finance landscape, starting with one of the world’s most advanced fintech markets.
