After several days of heavy losses, institutional investors are cautiously stepping back into the crypto market. Both Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs saw strong inflows this week, signaling a rebound in sentiment and a potential turning point following last week’s market crash.
$339 Million Flows Back Into Crypto ETFs
Data from SoSoValue shows that on October 14, Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) together recorded $339 million in net inflows, reversing the significant outflows seen just days earlier.
Bitcoin ETFs brought in $102.6 million, while Ethereum products attracted an even stronger $236.2 million highlighting renewed institutional confidence in the two largest cryptocurrencies.
Fidelity Leads the Recovery
Among Bitcoin ETFs, Fidelity’s FBTC led the rebound with $133 million in inflows. Bitwise’s BITB and Ark & 21Shares’ ARKB followed with $8 million and $6.8 million, respectively.
However, the gains were partially offset by outflows from BlackRock’s IBIT and Valkyrie’s BRRR, which saw a combined $44.85 million in withdrawals. Meanwhile, Grayscale’s GBTC and six other issuers reported no movement for the day, suggesting cautious optimism among larger holders.
Ethereum ETFs, on the other hand, delivered an even stronger performance. Fidelity’s FETH was the standout, attracting $154.6 million, while Grayscale’s ETH and ETHE saw another $50 million in new capital. Smaller inflows also came from Bitwise’s ETHW and VanEck’s ETHV, while BlackRock’s ETHA and 21Shares’ products remained flat.
From Panic to Calm: A Market Regains Its Footing
Just 24 hours earlier, crypto ETFs had suffered a brutal setback with Bitcoin funds losing $326.5 million and Ethereum funds shedding $428.5 million in a single day. Those outflows were part of a broader correction that wiped out nearly $1 trillion in crypto market value.
The latest turnaround, however, shows that institutions are once again seeing value at lower prices. Analysts suggest that the mass liquidation of leveraged positions may have cleared the way for a healthier rebound.
Bitcoin Holds Above $112K, Ethereum Reclaims $4K
At the time of writing, Bitcoin (BTC) is trading around $112,431, up 0.34% in the past 24 hours. While still down roughly 11% from its pre-crash high near $125,000, the benchmark cryptocurrency has held firm above key support at $110,000.
Market watchers now eye the $115,000–$120,000 range as the next major resistance zone to test.
Meanwhile, Ethereum (ETH) has mounted an impressive recovery of its own. After plunging to $3,435 during last week’s sell-off, ETH has rebounded by more than 20%, now trading near $4,116. The asset is holding above crucial short-term supports, with $4,250 emerging as a key resistance level for a continued rally.
Institutional Appetite Returns, But Caution Remains
The rebound in ETF flows reflects a shift in institutional sentiment. Despite lingering volatility, data suggests that professional investors are beginning to re-enter the market, betting on crypto’s long-term potential.
The Crypto Fear & Greed Index has also improved, moving closer to neutral territory after hovering in “fear” levels throughout the correction. Traders, however, remain cautious as markets digest last week’s shock.
With total crypto ETF assets nearing the $1 trillion milestone, the renewed inflows indicate that confidence though fragile is returning to the space.
The Bottom Line
The sharp turnaround in Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF inflows shows that institutions still view crypto as a resilient asset class capable of rebounding from major selloffs.
While uncertainty persists, rising ETF participation and steady price action across major assets suggest that the post-crash recovery phase is underway one inflow at a time.
