On September 11, Project 0 officially launched on Solana (SOL), introducing what it calls the first DeFi-native prime brokerage.
A Unified Margin System
At the heart of Project 0’s innovation is unified margin trading. Instead of managing positions separately across different platforms, users will now be able to borrow against their entire portfolio across venues like Kamino, Drift, and Jupiter.

This setup means traders no longer face the frustrating scenario of being liquidated on one platform while still holding enough collateral elsewhere. By reducing the risk of unnecessary liquidations, Project 0 also lowers the need for heavy overcollateralization, a pain point that has long plagued margin trading in DeFi.

According to Peet, Project 0 is about more than just smoother trading—it’s about rethinking DeFi infrastructure itself.
“The crypto industry has a hyper fixation on reinventing existing, working applications; the Project 0 team is committed to pushing the industry forward,” he said. “This fundamentally overhauls the DeFi trading experience.”
By offering cross-platform portfolio management, Project 0 takes a page from prime brokerage services in traditional finance, which have long been a cornerstone for hedge funds and institutional players.
“Prime brokerage services are fundamental infrastructure in traditional finance,” Peet explained. “For the first time we’re equipping DeFi traders with the same benefits, fundamentally leveling the playing field.”
