Gemini, the crypto exchange founded by the Winklevoss twins, has brought in a heavyweight partner ahead of its long-anticipated initial public offering (IPO). According to Reuters, Nasdaq will invest $50 million in Gemini shares through a private placement at the IPO, set to launch later this week.
A Strategic Partnership
The tie-up isn’t just about money. The deal gives Nasdaq’s clients access to Gemini’s crypto custody and staking services, while Gemini’s institutional customers will be able to tap into Nasdaq’s Calypso platform for managing and tracking trading collateral.

IPO Details
Gemini plans to sell 16.67 million shares priced between $17 and $19 each, which could raise up to $317 million. The listing would value the company at roughly $2.22 billion. Shares will trade on Nasdaq under the ticker GEMI, with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup acting as lead bookrunners.

Despite the buzz, Gemini is heading into its IPO with financial headwinds. The exchange reported a net loss of $282.5 million on $68.6 million in revenue for the first half of this year.
