Aave (AAVE) has slipped into bear market territory after tumbling more than 21% from last week’s highs, even as its new real-world asset (RWA) tokenization platform shows promising early growth.
On Tuesday, AAVE dropped to around $300, its lowest point since August 22. The move mirrors broader weakness across the crypto market, with both Bitcoin and other altcoins also sliding lower.
Horizon Assets Are Growing
Despite the sell-off, Aave remains a powerhouse in decentralized finance (DeFi). The protocol’s total value locked (TVL) has climbed 22% in the past month to hit nearly $40 billion, while weekly fees jumped to $21.2 million.
Fueling this momentum is Horizon, Aave’s recently launched RWA platform that bridges traditional and decentralized finance. The product allows institutional investors to borrow stablecoins using tokenized real-world assets as collateral.
Early data suggests solid adoption. The total available funds on Horizon have already surged to $50 million, with $6.2 million borrowed so far. Among the most supplied assets:
- Ripple USD (RLUSD) – over $26.3 million
- USD Coin (USDC) – about $8 million
- Janus Henderson Anemoy Treasury Fund – more than $2.08 million
This trajectory indicates strong institutional interest and could accelerate in the coming months.
AAVE Price Technical Analysis
From a technical perspective, Aave has fallen from last week’s high of $385.32 to $300 as traders appear to be selling the Horizon launch news.
On the daily chart, AAVE is now hovering around the middle of its ascending channel, finding temporary support at the 50-day moving average (MA).
- If sellers push lower, the next target could be the channel’s lower boundary at $280.
- A further breakdown would expose support near $245, last seen on August 30.
- Conversely, if buyers step in at $280, AAVE could bounce back and resume its broader bullish trend.
Outlook
While the token’s short-term price action looks shaky, Aave’s strong fundamentals, growing TVL, and Horizon’s early success could provide a foundation for recovery once market sentiment stabilizes.
For now, traders will be watching whether $280 holds as support or if the t
