XRP is showing signs of life after weeks of sustained selling pressure, with the token rebounding from a key support zone and once again testing the critical $1.20 resistance area.
While the recent recovery has improved short-term sentiment among traders, XRP still faces significant technical hurdles before a larger trend reversal can be confirmed. At the same time, market sentiment has fallen to its lowest level in eight months, creating an interesting setup that some analysts believe could support a stronger rebound.
XRP Bounces Back From Key Support
XRP traded around $1.15 on June 12 after successfully defending the important $1.10 support level.
The token gained nearly 3% over the previous 24 hours, supported by increased trading activity and stronger buying pressure. Daily trading volume reached approximately $1.68 billion, while XRP’s market capitalization climbed to roughly $71 billion.
During the session, XRP traded within a range of $1.10 to $1.15, showing that buyers remained active near recent lows. The recovery followed a difficult period for the asset, which remains down more than 21% over the last month and nearly 49% over the past year.
Although the recent bounce is encouraging, XRP still has considerable ground to recover before challenging its previous highs.
Strong Trading Volume Supports the Recovery
One of the most positive aspects of the latest move is the increase in trading volume.
XRP climbed from approximately $1.1080 to $1.1442 during the previous trading session, with the strongest momentum appearing after the token broke above resistance near $1.1220.
Trading activity surged significantly during the breakout. Volume exceeded 120 million XRP during a key trading period, representing more than a 160% increase compared to normal activity.
High volume often provides confirmation that a breakout is supported by genuine buying interest rather than temporary market noise. Unlike previous recovery attempts that faded quickly, buyers continued accumulating XRP throughout the session and managed to maintain prices above $1.14.
Why the $1.20 Level Is So Important
The next major challenge for XRP bulls sits between $1.20 and $1.25.
This zone has repeatedly acted as a barrier throughout 2026, preventing several recovery attempts from developing into sustained rallies. Every significant XRP rebound this year has struggled once it reached this resistance region.
For traders, a decisive breakout above $1.20 would represent a meaningful shift in market structure. It would suggest that buyers are gaining enough momentum to challenge the broader downtrend that has dominated XRP’s price action for months.
If XRP successfully closes above $1.20 on strong volume, attention could shift toward higher targets around $1.25 and beyond.
Sentiment Falls to an Eight-Month Low
Despite the recent price recovery, overall sentiment surrounding XRP remains extremely weak.
According to on-chain analytics platform Santiment, XRP’s weighted sentiment has dropped to its lowest level since October 2025. The metric combines social media activity with positive and negative market commentary to measure overall investor mood.
Historically, extremely negative sentiment can sometimes act as a contrarian indicator. When traders become overly pessimistic, markets occasionally stage strong rebounds as selling pressure becomes exhausted.
Santiment noted that previous XRP rallies often began when investor interest was low and negative commentary dominated discussions.
While weak sentiment alone does not guarantee a rally, it can provide an additional signal that the market may be approaching an important turning point.
Analysts See Potential Long-Term Opportunity
Some market analysts are also focusing on broader technical indicators.
Chart analyst ChartNerd highlighted that XRP has returned to the lower regression band of the Gaussian Channel on the two-week timeframe near $1.04. Historically, this area has acted as an attractive accumulation zone during previous market cycles.
According to the analyst, one of XRP’s longer-term signals has now been triggered, suggesting the current region may represent an opportunity for patient investors.
However, analysts continue to emphasize that confirmation is still needed before declaring the correction complete.
ETF Demand Provides Additional Support
Institutional interest remains another encouraging factor for XRP.
According to SoSoValue data, XRP spot ETFs recorded no net outflows on June 11. This contrasts with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana ETFs, which all experienced withdrawals during the same period.
Total XRP ETF assets now stand close to the $1 billion milestone, reaching approximately $985 million.
Stable ETF demand does not guarantee higher prices, but it can provide an important source of support during periods of market weakness. Continued institutional participation may help reduce selling pressure and create a more stable foundation for future price growth.
Ripple Expands XRPL Utility with MXNB Stablecoin
Beyond price action, Ripple continues expanding the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
Ripple and Bitso recently strengthened their partnership through the launch of MXNB, a Mexican peso-backed stablecoin built on the XRP Ledger. The stablecoin is expected to support cross-border payments between the United States and Mexico through Ripple’s decentralized exchange infrastructure.
The initiative aims to improve on-chain liquidity by combining MXNB with Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, creating more efficient settlement options for enterprise payment providers.
Although ecosystem growth does not always translate into immediate price gains, expanding real-world utility strengthens the long-term value proposition of the XRP Ledger.
XRPL Upgrade Adds Another Catalyst
Investors are also closely monitoring the upcoming XRPL 3.2.0 upgrade scheduled for June 15.
The update will rename the network’s core software from “rippled” to “xrpld” while introducing performance enhancements that could reduce server memory usage by as much as 40%.
The upgrade is designed to improve network efficiency and strengthen infrastructure as institutional adoption continues to expand.
While software improvements alone may not trigger a price rally, they reinforce confidence in the ecosystem and demonstrate ongoing development activity.
What Comes Next for XRP?
The short-term outlook depends heavily on XRP’s ability to break above resistance near $1.20.
A successful move beyond that level would strengthen the bullish case and potentially open the path toward $1.25 and higher resistance zones. However, failure to overcome this barrier could leave XRP trapped inside its broader downtrend.
On the downside, the $1.10 support zone remains critical. If buyers fail to defend this area, XRP could revisit $1.04, where several analysts see a major long-term support region.
For now, XRP is showing encouraging signs of recovery, supported by rising volume, stable ETF demand, growing XRPL utility, and extremely negative sentiment that could eventually fuel a stronger rebound. The next few trading sessions will likely determine whether the current rally develops into a sustainable trend reversal or remains another short-lived recovery attempt.
