The crypto venture capital space roared back to life this week, recording total investments of $470.75 million between April 20–26, 2025. Several high-profile projects across blockchain, DeFi, AI, and infrastructure sectors closed major funding rounds, signaling renewed confidence in the crypto industry’s growth potential.
Bitdeer Secures $179 Million
Singapore-based Bitdeer Technologies Group led the week’s funding activity by raising $179 million through a mix of loans and equity financing. Backed by Matrixport the digital asset financial services platform founded by Bitdeer Chairman Jihan Wu the funds are expected to bolster Bitdeer’s blockchain and high-performance computing initiatives.
As of April 25, Bitdeer reported holdings of 1,234.4 Bitcoin (BTC), with 39.3 BTC produced and 17.0 BTC sold in recent operations. The funding positions Bitdeer strongly for expansion, particularly as the company explores new opportunities in U.S. mining operations amid easing trade tariffs.
