Cysic, the zero-knowledge layer-1 blockchain project, has officially launched ComputeFi, a revolutionary platform designed to make high-performance computing power more accessible through tokenized hardware assets. Announced on Thursday, May 29, the initiative introduces what Cysic describes as a “hardware tokenization model,” poised to transform how developers, miners, and AI practitioners access GPU and chip resources.
Bridging the Gap Between Demand and Access
As the AI boom drives unprecedented demand for GPUs and other compute-intensive hardware, smaller developers and crypto users are finding themselves priced out of the market. With high-end chips becoming increasingly scarce and expensive, ComputeFi provides a new solution by tokenizing real-world computing devices such as GPUs, zero-knowledge (ZK) chips, and mining rigs.
“We wanted to ease the cost of scaling real-time applications and help generate sustainable yield for the biggest crypto use cases today: crypto mining, AI inference, and zero-knowledge proving,” said Leo Fan, Co-Founder of Cysic.
How ComputeFi Works
At its core, ComputeFi allows users to purchase tokens that represent shares in physical compute hardware. These tokens entitle holders to a portion of the rewards generated by that hardware, whether through AI workloads, cryptographic proofs, or mining operations. This model offers a new form of passive income without the need to manage, maintain, or power physical machines.
On the backend, ComputeFi tracks all usage and rewards on-chain, ensuring full transparency and removing the need for intermediaries. According to Cysic, the platform creates a direct connection between those who own compute infrastructure and those who need it.
“Most people can’t afford to buy and operate high-end compute hardware. ComputeFi bridges this gap. It connects those who need compute with those who have it, and allows anyone to generate yield from the infrastructure that powers blockchain, AI, and mining technologies,” added Fan.
First Use Case: Dogecoin and Litecoin Mining
In its initial rollout, ComputeFi will focus on supporting Dogecoin and Litecoin mining, two popular proof-of-work cryptocurrencies. By decentralizing mining access through tokenized infrastructure, Cysic aims to democratize rewards and reduce the entry barrier for average users.
Participants can earn mining rewards without setting up their own rigs, offering a simplified and scalable solution for both beginners and experienced miners. This, Cysic believes, will promote a more distributed and resilient mining ecosystem.
The Bigger Vision
ComputeFi is part of Cysic’s broader mission to enable scalable and trustless infrastructure for the blockchain and AI-powered future. As more applications require real-time, high-performance compute environments, the demand for accessible solutions will only grow. ComputeFi positions itself at the center of this shift, using tokenization to empower a new generation of builders, miners, and developers.
