Fabian, drawing on his tech background and startup experience, had to bridge a wide knowledge gap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cIt was 2018\u2026 and all of these misunderstandings about what the thing is made it take a lot longer than it should have,\u201d said Fabian.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>To explain blockchain\u2019s utility, he used relatable metaphors describing cryptocurrency as \u201can intangible motorcycle\u201d used to deliver services like vaccines in remote areas. Another memorable analogy compared crypto to <strong>fungus growing on trees<\/strong>, portraying decentralized finance as a natural offshoot of institutional frameworks rather than a direct disruptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Launch of UNICEF\u2019s CryptoFund<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>That initial groundwork paid off in <strong>October 2019<\/strong>, when UNICEF launched its <strong>CryptoFund<\/strong>, becoming the <strong>first UN entity to accept, hold, and disburse cryptocurrencies<\/strong>.
