This strategic acquisition provides Robinhood access to more than <strong>C$2.1 billion in assets under custody<\/strong> and a growing user base in one of the world\u2019s most rapidly developing crypto markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WonderFi: A Canadian Crypto Powerhouse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WonderFi operates two of Canada\u2019s most well-established and <strong>regulated crypto trading platforms\u2014Bitbuy and Coinsquare<\/strong>. Together, the platforms serve approximately <strong>1.6 million users<\/strong> and processed more than <strong>C$3.57 billion in trading volume<\/strong> during fiscal year 2024, reflecting a <strong>28% year-over-year growth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deal values WonderFi shares at <strong>C$0.36 per common share<\/strong>, representing a <strong>41% premium over the stock\u2019s May 12 closing price<\/strong> and a <strong>71% premium over its 30-day volume-weighted average price<\/strong>. The transaction is expected to <strong>close in the second half of 2025<\/strong>, pending <strong>shareholder and regulatory approvals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strengthening Robinhood\u2019s Global Crypto Strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Robinhood\u2019s acquisition of WonderFi follows its <strong>$200 million acquisition of Bitstamp<\/strong> in 2024, showcasing the firm\u2019s continued investment in expanding its <strong>global crypto footprint<\/strong>.
