According to Meteora, the changes are designed to address community feedback and prepare the protocol for its next phase of development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThese proposals address key community concerns about the LP Stimulus Plan, M3M3, and more,\u201d the project stated, encouraging users to participate in the governance process.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Proposal 1: Revamped Liquidity Provider Stimulus Plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The first proposal focuses on <strong>adjusting the LP Stimulus Plan<\/strong>. Initially, 10% of the total MET supply was earmarked for rewarding liquidity providers. However, since the program has extended beyond its original <strong>December 2024<\/strong> end date, Meteora now proposes increasing the allocation to <strong>15%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the new plan:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>8% of MET<\/strong> will be distributed equally to all LPs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2%<\/strong> will go specifically to early contributors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An additional <strong>3%<\/strong> will support <strong>Launch Pools and Launch Pads<\/strong> to avoid reward dilution for retail LPs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Meteora has also <strong>eliminated the original points multiplier system<\/strong>, replacing it with a more straightforward and inclusive model. The revised allocation aims to reward both early and newer LPs fairly while enhancing overall ecosystem engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Proposal 2: Team and M3M3 Token Holder Allocation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The second proposal concerns long-term team incentives and the <strong>M3M3 stake-to-earn platform<\/strong>. Meteora suggests allocating <strong>20% of the MET token supply<\/strong> to the team, with a <strong>six-year vesting schedule<\/strong> to ensure sustained commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, <strong>2% of the MET supply<\/strong> within this allocation will be distributed to <strong>M3M3 token holders<\/strong>. M3M3 allows users to earn fees from permanently locked liquidity pools. The decision follows previous mismanagement by M3M3\u2019s original creators, which resulted in <strong>significant losses for investors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To maintain fairness, <strong>two on-chain snapshots<\/strong> will determine eligible M3M3 holders, and <strong>wallets linked to suspicious activity<\/strong> will be excluded from the distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rapid Growth and Legal Challenges<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Meteora&#8217;s governance activity comes on the heels of exceptional platform growth. According to <strong>DeFiLlama<\/strong>, the exchange\u2019s trading volume skyrocketed from <strong>$990 million in December 2024<\/strong> to <strong>$33 billion in January 2025<\/strong>, a <strong>33x increase<\/strong>. The platform now holds <strong>9% of the total DEX market share<\/strong> and ranks fourth by trading volume, generating <strong>$195 million in monthly fees<\/strong> in February alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, success hasn\u2019t shielded Meteora from scrutiny. On <strong>March 13<\/strong>, New York-based <strong>Burwick Law<\/strong> filed a <strong>class-action lawsuit<\/strong> against <strong>Meteora<\/strong>, <strong>KIP Protocol<\/strong>, and <strong>Kelsier Ventures<\/strong>, alleging they manipulated liquidity and misled investors during the <strong>LIBRA token launch<\/strong>. The case could have significant implications for the project\u2019s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Looking Ahead<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The two MET token proposals are now live for community voting, as Meteora seeks to reinforce trust and realign incentives following both exponential growth and recent controversies.
