However, <strong>critical cryptographic operations are still performed on a microcontroller<\/strong>, which <strong>remains susceptible to attacks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe microcontroller used is labeled TRZ32F429 \u2013 this is actually a STM32F429 chip packaged into a BGA with custom markings. In spite of the Trezor-specific package however, it is really electrically the same as a STM32F429, and this chip\u2019s family is known to be vulnerable to voltage glitching, enabling read and write access to its flash contents.\u201d \u2013 <strong>Ledger Donjon<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Potential Exploit Risks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ledger claims that while <strong>Trezor Safe devices<\/strong> incorporate <strong>anti-tampering mechanisms<\/strong>, these defenses are <strong>not foolproof<\/strong>. The research team warns that a <strong>determined hacker could exploit voltage glitching techniques<\/strong> to gain unauthorized access. The most alarming part?
